some of you may know that we do alot of motorcycle camping I wanted to show every one here a site that I am a member at was along time lurker ..but is full of info about camping with your motorcycle. web page here are 3 of my best items I take camping with me... tent web page its a 3 man and me and the wife love it lots of room for us and our grear.. cot web page great cot very lite packs small and easy to set up..and I get a great nights sleep on it chair web page I want say over the years I have found out when it comes camping gear with some items don't go cheap and other you can .. so if any of you are into motorcycle camping or thinking about trying it check this site out ton's of info.. We take a double sleeping bag and an air mattress and a 5 room tent along with a soft sided cooler to hold drinks and food. Add that to all our clothes and misc. other stuff we are packed. I have pix of both our bikes loaded down somewhere.
I learned all I need to know about life by killing smart people and eating their brains.

Although the tent I use when camping on the bike is a little too small for them, so I use a blow up mattress

yes I got mine last year and it was under 100 bucks.. and worth every penny...its all aluminum... you can take the cot off and wash it..and comes with a life time guarantee ..and if you weight over 250lbs "like I do" I want some thing that is not going to break one night when I really need it..and you can set it up and take it down in under 1 min 
and when it come to what I sleep on for a good nights sleep I don't go cheap..

Most definitely!
I liked the camp bed idea ... especially for long ferry crossings (like my recent one Greece-Italy and v.v. on my way to the Euro Rally in Braz, Austria) when cabins are not available.
Seems like a quality, heavy duty item.

I've camped a while. I've tryed those wire cots just to low to the ground for me. I got one of those WalMark army type cot, can sit on it and read a book on a rainy day with legges over the side and I don't need to crawl around to get up. A littel heavy but not as wide as my saddel bags. and a 4 man tent gives me enouft room for me and my things. Ues a multi fuel colmen stove will burn gas in a pinch. Remember one thing whem packing your bike height is not good width is good as long it not past your handel bar or saddel bags to much. Won't effect handeling much. Now for chairs their or some I really like but I don't buy them dronks falling and some just get misplaced.

The tent we use is nearly 10 kg, been looking for something a lot lighter, thanks for sharing this with us.

Motorcycle camping in one word........Tesco's!
I tend to opt for the cheaper end of the market as most people who I know will vouch for.
Otherwise check out local army surplus stores. If it's good enough to use in major combat then it's kinda good enough for a booze up in a field.
But before you go anywhere.......check the poles!
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Oh it's not looking good for there unfortunately - back in the UK.
It was pretty slim that I would have made it anyhow.

I've been camping twice now this year on my 1972 Bonneville, along with several other vintage bike riders...This bike brings a older, more mature group that I fit in with much better....we don't drink alot, and have to be in bed early, as we are early risers....We are going up to T.W.O. in North Georgia this weekend (9-04-10), probably just for the day though, no camping....just riding.

I have over 25 nights in a tent this year and another 25 nights in our 16'trailer camper..
yup that's the first thing we do is set up the keg and break out the note pad's /lap top's and start looking at porn...NOT!!!! I don't know where you're camping but I have never run across what your talking about.. and I have camped all over from canada,PA,VT,WI,ME,OH & NY..
I realize there are camping areas that are adult group specific.. but you statement makes it sould like every camping area is all about drinking and looking at porn

but if you do that on a long ride you will go broke....this how we got into camping on the motorcycle ..we already did alot of camping...the first year we got the tiger we took along trip out west and headed south and then back north.. we stayed at hotels every night a few times we were able to find hotel under 50 bucks a night ..but most of the time it was 75 to 90 bucks a night ..so buy the time we were done we and a hotel bill well over a $1000 bucks..
so we said that way to much and looked into camping on the motorcycle.. and found that you can do this cheap and easy and some times even free yes free ..there are place all over that have free camping and yes there are place that charge way to much to camp.. but on the average it's $12 bucks a night...so if we take the same trip to day ..it would cost us about $150 bucks camping

Best thing to do is just go camping, then the next time you go you will know what to bring. After riding two days in the rain, I now put wallet, camera, etc. in ziploc baggies. Larger trash bags for everything else.

heres a few light weight things ive picked up over the years for camping in general. they work for bike,hunting fishing etc camping     stove fits in the kettle(which is 1.5 lr), the kettle fits in the pots, if you dump the smallest pot (my pot set is similar to those in the pic ,only with one more pot) the stool holds upto 350lbs but weighs less than 2 lbs. i have several different tents, 3 domes(2,4,6 berth) and 1 tunnel (3 berth) but still looking for one which is lightweight ,roomy enough and tall enough for me to nearly stand up in ,i'm 6'4". i also have a couple of self inflating mattresses which are the bollox for comfort . picked up most of my stuff from Amazon,Cabellas or Bass Proshops. i'll be heading out in a few hours to camp by the mighty Fraser River(yup that one from the lumberjack song  ) for a few days of Salmon fishing.so the gear will get another workout before Steelhead season starts this winter.
