Does anyone run the Norman Hyde mid-foot controls? I am a shortlegged guy and commute 60-80 miles daily. I really think maybe more upright or mid controls and not be stretched out as much as the forwards make me sit would be a lot more comfortable. Wanted some feedback if anyone is running these. These are about the only ones I have seen other than some one on here a few yrs ago was making some midpegs in addition to the original forward but not the whole mid control setup. Would apprecitate any feedback or knowledge of other manufacturer.
Thanks

Footboards really help. I'm height-challenged in the inseam. I can reach my controls just fine but like to move my feet back a bit.

I also moved my rear pegs underneath my butt with some brackets from Newspeedmaster. I can actually stand up on them to really stretch and air things out.

I have them and really like them. I wanted them for a different look on the bike. The down side is they will flex a little when you move around on the bike and push down on the peg. Here is a pic of mine (I have Harley pegs on mine)

I just put a pair of these on my bike today. I've ridden about 10 miles with them, so I can only give you a first-impression kind of review... but here goes:

The good: The position is great! They feel like they're in exactly the right place. The 10 miles I put on it were all twisties and the position definitely made me more comfortable in the corners. Made me want to lean forward more and ride a little more aggressively. Definitely a nice change. The installation was EASY! It took about 15 minutes per side. The instructions could have been better, but the change-out is pretty intuitive.

The bad: The mounting plates are not as thick as I'd like and there's no support @ the pegs... so putting your weight on them when going over a bump or pot-hole is not an option (especially if you're not thin). This might be something I could rig up by myself with some effort. Maybe I'll try some day. The only other thing is that there are no 'feelers' on the pegs. So, you can lean a bit farther without scraping, but when you do scrape... you're scraping the rubber off the pegs. Not that big a deal, but something to make note of.

All in all, I'm glad I got them. I'll keep you posted as I put a few more miles on them.

Probably be a little stronger if they hadn't cut that "T" out of the middle.

Sounds like it might be time to trace them out, whip them up on the computer and have a thicker set cut out on a waterjet.

He||, if you (or anybody else) have the equipment and talent, I'd gladly buy a set from you.

Not without some filing (or milling).

I could make the digital file, but I don't have a waterjet. But they can't be that rare. There's one in Great Falls (90 mi. north).

On mine I got a Harley passenger peg mount (I think what they called it) it was on the wall on the harley shop. I got a large SS fender washer from Ace. The take the Norman Hide peg holder and put the Harley one in. You need a new bolt. Then any Harley peg will fit. On mine they are Sporter Blackster?? sets...I haven't figured out the brake or the shifter yet. I could take some close up pic's if you guys want

I just did a google search and found a couple of them here in Portland. Maybe I'll get a quote. I'm thinking the more they do, the cheaper it will be per unit. Maybe I'll get a dozen or more and sell them in the classifieds section and on ebay to try to recoup some of the expense.

When I bought mine I asked Norman Hyde if there were any floorboards available to fit them. He said at the present time no. That was months ago, things might have changed since. With some fabrication anything is possible.
