Getting ready to install the new windshield and take off the Triumph summer shield. There is not a lot of difference in overall size, but the different curve and angle might cut down a little on buffeting...at least I am hoping so.

The National Cycle Street shield is a bit taller and narrower, so I am not sure if that will make as much difference to wind buffeting as it would if I had installed lowers. Normally installing a windscreen is a job I can do with minimal cussing, but I am a bit too tired lately. So it is still on the work bench now, waiting for me to be able to work without sounding like a sailor, and not witness any sailing of tools. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to tinker calmly.

I switched screens from the Triumph Roadster to a MS Big Shot hoping the same thing. Didn't work... I went to lowers and the buffeting problem went away. But ya never know... your new screen just might do it for you.

Same here Keith, I found with the big shot that whilst all the headwind went over my head, it seemed to create a pressure difference of bringing more wind up from underneath. Same diff, the lowers sorted it and I'm pretty confident it doesn't get much better than this setup.

Still planning to get lowers someday. I'm afraid I'll find the same problem. Just trying to decide where to get the hardware since I'm pretty sure I will have to get them custom done for me. Lowers I find so far will not cover the area I want. Too short. Now to decide if I want them made in a black smoke, or clear.

Laurie, you can get the lowers hardware only through Eddy. I bought the whole lowers kit and as you suspect... found the deflectors to be too small. I ended up making a pair that extended from the lower edge of the screen to the fork seals. Now, there's just a hint of turbulence behind the screen... it's heavenly.

I found the lowers from Eddy to be fine albeit I interestingly have installed them upside down to what's considered normal I also find they actually look better that way.
Whatever mashes ya spuds I guess.

If you need to eliminate head buffeting with the windshield, lowers will definitely do the trick. I used Memphis Shades lower fork brackets, and made up some lowers from some 3/16" Lexan. The brackets are for a VN900 but they also fit the Speedmaster/America lower shrouds. Here's the setup on my wife's '07 with a Clearview Summer shield Here's a different style with a Cleaview Roadster shield HTH, H.

I went from a summerscreen to a clearview 18" and so far I love it...I like it used the same mounts so I saved some money and only was 4 screws and 2 nuts to mess with.

Yeah, the Clearview screens give you some better options with height and width compared to the Triumph screens. If you get some head buffeting/turbulence, you can add the lower deflectors to really smooth things out.

No it liiks like the summer screen, but a bit wider and about 5" taller....I don't think I'll need the lowers... Still early to tell for sure..

I've been using the 17" Clearview Summer Screen replacement for 4.5 years. Looks great, works great, and I haven't seen any need for lowers.

I already had the lowers with my roadster screen. I just recently installed the Clearview Roadster Gt large with extended lowers and am well pleased with the results. The lowers had already improved the buffeting issues, but the higher , wider Clearview made a world of difference !

Yes, the clearview is a good option. I had a 17" model but due to a convoluted set of issues ( too long s story) I bought the Big shot. I do remember the clearview being a good screen when it fitted although I do prefer the look of the Big Shot. It's just personal preference and I must admit, I was guided somewhat by Eddy and I'm glad I was. Food for thought, why not ring Eddy if you want some sound advice?
