That's entirely up to him. If the weather sucks I'll make him truck my bike out there.

Unfortunately I will be in New Brunswick, Canada that day. Maybe I'll make a pre-Oyster run sometime earlier in September. Hope it's good weather on the day of the run. Maybe Z can show off "Steve's Curve" to those who missed out on the fun way back when.

Now its questionable on whether Karen and I will be there.
I can come home for the weekend but need to be back in San Diego for Monday morning. Karen has to leave Monday morning as well to be elsewhere.

I riding up on Saturday through the Olympic National Forest.
I'm staying the night in like Port Townsend or Sequim. I think we will be there rather early if we get up and get moving on Sunday.
I've only been there once. Any particular place everyone wants to meet?
oh yeah, my friend who is riding with me rides a Road King. I wont hold it against y'all.

"Yer killin me, Smalls."

What are you doing Thursday and/or Friday night? Maybe a few of us can get together for dinner or something.

I want to jump over to Vancouver Island at some point and visit Vern and Debbie, who you probably met in Nelson. My schedule is starting to shape up like this (especially in light of your news):

Tuesday night: Thompson Falls, MT
Wednesday night: Trail, BC
Thursday night: Somewhere in or around Seattle (maybe Freedom's ex-girlfriend's house... ROFL)
Friday and/or Saturday night: Mill Bay (on the island)
Sunday: the Oyster Run
Sunday night: possibly start running for home.

I have a major project kick off meeting either that Tuesday or Wednesday so I can't extend my trip or stop and smell the roses on the way home. But Thurs-Saturday are a bit in flux. One could say it's all fluxed up.

And the standard weather disclaimer still applies.

Hey Zdenko, are you in town at all that week?

Not sure where "Z" will be...I will be home and you are still welcome to come and stay..Even visit at the Birthday party on saturday..none of it is a problem with the exception that I wont be able to ride to the Oyster Run on sunday morning..that is the only thing that changes.

I was referring to andy_m's message about not being on their Triumph and riding a Harley, and no one talking to him.
I am riding up with a friend on a Harley, I am cool talking to folks on their 'other' bikes.

Sometimes what is in my head doesn't type so well on the screen. oh well.

You are welcome to head down this way Friday and ride back up 101 with us on Saturday. I got a spare room.

I just thought I'd throw it out there.

I clicked the link icon in the upper right corner, copied and pasted the link into another browser window and then used my TinyURL bookmarklet to create the shorter link. It isn't saved at all.

I'm probably going to take the ferry back to Anacortes on Saturday evening and find someplace to crash near there. I'm sure Anacortes will be all booked up. I also thought about staying up near the border and meeting you somewhere to ride the rest of the way.

I will be in Portland on Thursday night, dining with Soren, Laurie and Brent. I'm sure anyone else is welcome. Sounds like I'm crashing there with Brent before I ride up to meet Bob and continue on.

My route... leaving Wednesday morning...

I'm either doing this: map1

Or this: map2

At this point it just depends on the weather. I'd rather not take the interstate all the way there and back, but it's the most expedient.

I've been updating my itinerary on my blog. http://www.friarsride.com/2010-oyster-run/

If the weather is with you Thursday instead of I-84 take Hwy 14 on the Washington side all the way. It parallels I-84 It is one of the best roads to ride I think.

Noted. Thanks!

Edit: Hey, is there gas on that side or do I have to plan which bridge to jump back over to fill up somewhere? Can't quite do 190 on one tank.

You might need to cross over at Biggs Junction (free to cross the bridge there), and then jet back over to 14. That is where I usually gas up. There are some small places along the way, but you never know.

According to weather.com, the forecast is really not that bad.
