I don’t have any numbers, just a California public safety guys word, to base this on. Back in the late 1980‘s there was a rash of shootings on the Los Angelus freeways. Actually not many shootings and very few victims but a LOT of press coverage. This guy was a Naval Reservist and told me at the time that the number of fatalities was way down as jerk drivers were being more considerate out of fear of being shot but that the authorities didn’t want to publicize the fact. True or not? I really don’t know, but it sounds reasonable. An armed society is a polite society.
