What exactly are you asking... where the 'check engine' light might be? You say "cel on" so ummmm, I'm stumped. However my bike does not have a check engine light. Maybe the EFI bikes do, I'm not sure.

An 09 will be under warranty... if you can get it to the shop, take it there. If it is simple, great, but if there is a bigger issue, you will want to have the documentation that you took it in.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

Definately take it to the shop. Don't take a chance.

Oh, okay... it's an '09. Agreed, take it to the shop. So the newer EFI bikes have an engine light do they? Huh!

Something is feeding the neutral safety light. The light finds a ground through the neutral safety switch under the engine. Could be the neutral switch itself failing or a pinched wire somewhere in the system. Might even have a bad diode. Any of these items might be what is causing your CEL light to come on.

Question, will your bike start in gear?
