I was actually thinking a little less, you would do better taking the extras off and selling them seperately.

Kelly Blue Book as $3600 retail and I was told about half or less for the accessories...Actual spent on everything on the bike $3300...So...would $4500 be to much....It needs a home...Don't want to give it away, and I don't need to get rich on her....She still runs like a bat out of """"..

I don't want to rain on your parade George, but Brand new '09 Americas are going for $5900-6500. $4,500 is a little high. There is an '02 Black and White on E-bay with 1300 miles in perfect shape and last bid I saw was $4,000. There was a member here with a 2003 Red and silver America was trying to sell it with 10,000 miles for $3200. It depends on how bad you want to sell. I'm with Moe, MC's are more than mere money, keep it if you can.

It really depends on how many folks in your area want one.
It also depends on who wants the accessories. An example is the below would never be on my bike. There is quite a divide between naked bikes, bobbers, and baggers. Just a personal taste thing. That being the case, many buyers could care less about them. Take them off and sell them separately now.
See what you get then market the bike for the difference.
Left as part of the deal, you will find yourself giving them away with the bike just to finish the sale.

Won't rain on my parade..I posted here to get honest opinions...Who else better to ask than the folks here...My problem is I really don't want or need to sale her....I just hate to let her go each year with only 770 to 1000 miles being put on her. Local dealer tells me it looks better now than when I bought it....Still wish I had my 68 Bonny....Wonder if this one would last that long?????

PS...I remember Moe telling me he stopped on the BRPKY once a long time ago very close to my house...DO YOU REMEMBER MOE?(Buena Vista Overlook)

I am selling a nice old Pick Up truck to get cash for what you are thinking about selling. The bike sounds to be outfitted exactly as I would like. It has been 16 years since my last Bonnie got stolen. Kids are gone, WIFE wants me to get a bike!! It could be days or months before the truck sells. Since you are just considering the sale how about I get in touch when it does and we can talk it over? Don't let the fact that this is "complete newbe" get in the way. I just found this by accident while looking at "for sale" ads.

I remember that conversation George!
If you don't have to sell then keep her. Vera only clocked 3000 miles one year. They will side stand real well although if you can, lift them off the ground. And, were I trying to sell either one of my gals, the price would start at 5K! Good luck with whatever you decide.

That's a great looking bike George! When I told you $4,500 was too high I spaced out the fact that you had all those accessories. The other bikes I mentioned were pretty much stock. I hate to keep agreeing with Moe (he might get a big head) but I would keep it off the shocks and just keep it. You may regret selling it.

Well moe, ya know I have a feelin' IF you'd ever sell Vera, you'd eventually see her again and get her back anyway! Uh huh...I don't know where, I don't know when, but I know you'd meet(and get her back) again, some sunny day.
And come to think of it, I thought you also once told us around here that.."You could be happy the rest of your life with a Cinnamon Girl!"
(...and soooo, what kind'a talk is THAT, huh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Well George....All I can say is it would be going to a good home in New Mexico. I've been dreaming about that very bike for a long, long time. After hearing all the encouragement for you to keep it, I kinda wish I hadn't let my wife see it.

Welcome to the site Richard Your wife sounds like a great girl, so a guy with that kind of luck will still get his dream bike even if we do persuade George to keep his. Sometimes others are posted on here so keep checking in, you'll learn a lot about the bike you will eventually get I'd sell you mine but you couldn't afford what I'd want

Dammmmmm... brings back memories. My bike looked a lot like that in 2002 (until that following Winter). Color, pipes, floorboards, engine bars, driving lights... and so on...

They may seem to be undervalued now, but as well as they are made, I would hedge on them being worth about the same for some time to come, and with a little luck, maybe worth a little more, in a few more years. These bikes do have the makings of a real cult classic - a bike that may be recognized years from now as a better performer than they ever got press for, and a bike that has proven to be as reliable as one could ever ask for. One thing for sure, they will be around for our lifetimes. Far from disposable, these.

I finally sold the truck..... My wife is making me check by to see if George might still have the bike for sale. I told her he either sold it or is keeping it, but, that someone else might have one they are thinking of parting with.
