Greetings to all. It's been quite some time since I've visited the Lounge. Hope you are all well. I am in need of some new tires for the trusty ole steed. What do you suggest, I'm still a cheap skate so I'm not looking for the most expensive type. Who do you recommend to get them from as well. I seem to remember there were a few suppliers who were members on here as well. I would like to support a members business if possible.

Hey "Stranger"! How ya been, Mark?! Re the "tires", glad to see you're apparently all assimilated now, mate! (see FT's "WAAAY OT"/tyres for his Chevy S-10 thread" for further details)...AND, re the tires, nothin' much has changed since the last time you felt like checkin' in with all your old friends around here. In other words, Fast Eddy is STILL the vendor to check out FIRST for all your motorcycling needs! http://www.fasteddysports.com/And if you're lookin' to save some bucks on a couple o' tires for your bike, it looks like Eddy has some Kendas that'll fit our bikes for a very reasonable charge. (nice hearin' from ya, ol' buddy...and DON'T be such a stranger from here on out, okay dude?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I know everyone hates the original Bridgestones. But I had good luck with them. I got about 16,000 on the front and 14,000 miles on ther rear. Albeit they needed replaced real bad. I went to Dunlop and Michelin after that and didn't get near the mileage. Dunlop was the worst. I only got about 8,000. The last ones I had was Metzler Laserteks they seem to be wearing well until I smashed up the bike with 33,000 + on the odometer.

I also have had good luck with my original Bridgestones which now have over 20,000 miles on them. I've all but decided to replace them with Metzlers, like what Triumph puts on stock now. Metzler and Perelli are actually the same company. Always had good results with Perelli tires on my sports cars.

+1 on the Kendas, bought mine from Bike Bandit. I used the $10 gift card I got from AMA and used my AMA discount.
