well, after a grueling, pain in the ****** move out, we're settling in pretty well so far. It rained the WHOLE day we loaded the truck, I ran out of room and had to rent a SECOND truck to take stuff to the dump, and we left at 8pm instead of noon. The next day, my wife (who was following in her car) felt like crap, so we made lousy time and stopped early, but she felt better the next day, and we made up distance with a vengance. Got to see my brother on the way out, and still made western Kansas by nightfall. All in all, other than the bad start, was a long trip, but manageable. Finally got my baby out of the truck yesterday, put all of my stuff in storage for a month, and took her out for a ride and groceries. Went west on 17th Avenue out of Longmont (where we live) and passed through a town called Hygeine. All horse farms and country about 2 miles after I left our apartment heading west, and lo and behold what do I pass, but an early model (2002-2004) black and silver America. Beautiful ride, albeit short, beautiful country, with a pretty much unobstructed view of Longs Peak (14,255') from our apartment complex, and most anywhere in town. The weather is going to play havoc with riding to work though, since we seem to get some real gullywashers where I work with STRONG winds and blowing rain right about quitting time (while it'll be sunny and dry 10 miles away at home). Of course, any good move wouldn't be right without something amiss, and right after visting my 92 year old grandfather today, my VW blew it's exhaust out just as I was heading onto I-25 north. I think it blew the flex hose out just downstream of the Turbo and header assembly, but will see this week when I get it in. Till then, it'll sound like a 83 Chevy S-10 farm truck I guess....
But, all in all, happy to be hear and ready to settle into Colorado livin'!
Yee haw!
