After being quoted crazy prices for a new touring seat for my Speedy, I started searching the WEB for somebody in Australia who does bike seat upholstery. I found a guy in Brisbane named John Moorhouse who trades under the name Ergo Seats. I gave him my Triumph touring seat, told him the alterations I wanted, he said no problem. Here's what he did, total cost AU$260. [image] [/image] [image] [/image] [image] [/image] Jo thinks it's fantastic.

that's a really good size pillion pad. I bet it is comfy. The high back on the rider's seat is good to. the top panels remind me of a early 1970's cortina vinyl seat. Did you get gel put in the seat?

The cover is what they used to put on some early Triumphs. The pillion part has got gel in it, I told him to leave the original foam in the riders part. I never have had a problem with the original foam. When you are 5'5" and weigh 90 kilos I suppose my wide a**e makes excellent padding.

If you're happy with it comfort-wise, that's all that really matters. But what a GREAT LOOKING seat Frank!! I admire people that can do that kind of work!

Looks great Frank! Thats exactly what some people were looking for a few months back and the only alternative was British Coustoms at a price of $600. Nice job

Nice looking seat there. That pillion looks better cupped out rather than the stock look.

I like the look. Looks good. Much better than the British Custom unit. How water proof do you think it will be?

Soren, I had him make the seat about 40mm wider on both sides and 45mm deeper at the back. He also took the hump (If thats the right word) out of the middle.
On the original Touring Seat Jo said it was as if her backside was moulding around the seat instead of sitting on it.

Greg, The crosshatch on the seat is completely waterproof.
There again I will find out when it next rains.
Being in the situation that we have only had 12mm of rain in the last 4 months, I will have to keep you posted on that subject.
It is still technically Winter here and the temperature has just risen into the mid 20c's a ride out for lunch today is definitely on the cards.
