4 and a half turns or larger pilots are achiving the same end. I went to larger pilots after removing the air box and other tricks. No harm in going to 4and1/2 and easier than changing out the pilots. Not just my opinion but my dealers as well when we were discussing tuneing on different bikes. The dealer I bought mine from regularly goes 4 or more out to cure popping. And lots of bikes run to rich with 45 pilots. However if you can't adjust it out then you have no recourse but to change out the pilots.
