I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but the other night I saw a new Old Spice Ad. Near the end the Old Spice guy is in a hot tub when the sides fall off and he is actually on a bike. I only saw it for a second but I was pretty sure it was a Triumph? Any one else notice? I was sure it was a side by side twin and looked like a bonnie or thruxton?? Maybe they should play that ad at the harley shop with a voice overlike..."This is the bike your bike could be...?? LOL.

Those ads are pretty funny, but also amazing in that they're done in a single take with very little computer graphics.

Nope, sorry guys! I'm almost certain that it's a Honda CB350, anywhere from maybe a '68 to maybe a '70, or before Honda went to a disc front brake on that model.
(it IS a clever commercial however)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

It does look rather CB-ish. Yup... I have to lean towards your assessment there Dwight (to the second power)!

Old Spice should use a British bike, it would fit with the sea-going heritage. Hai Karate; now they could use a Honda (Do they still make that stuff?)

I don't know, Bill! I stopped usin' it YEARS ago and right after I married Judie.
(...figured it just wasn't Kosher anymore after tyin' the ol' knot and then havin' to fight off all those gals attackin' me after usin' the stuff!...much too much temptation to just let 'em have their way with me, ya see!)

I think Dwight is rigt about it being an old CB350. I was comparing motors to other pictures and neglected the brakes.

Eeh! ALL those lousy Vertical-Twins look alike out there! THAT'S why I'm thinkin' of sellin' mine and goin' to somethin' COMPLETELY different and unique....like say something that has a V-TWIN in it!!! (...I sure don't see too many of THOSE out there...DO YOU?!)

Unless it has a transversely mounted v-twin.

Well Soren, I doubt if I could find ANOTHER Honda CX500 in reasonably good shape like I had back in 1978, dude!!!
Ya see, most of THOSE have now pretty much been beaten to death by now, and personally I'd prefer to find somethin' with less than, say, 10,000miles on its odometer!
(...say, you wouldn't have been thinkin' of some kind'a Moto Guzzi here, now would ya?!)

10,000 miles on a CX500 - barely broken in. I still see my old 1980 CX500 Custom on the roads here, but the new owner (new being relative since I got rid of it about 15 years ago) doesn't begin to take care of it like he should.

Yeah, I know what ya mean, Steve. The CX-series was, and is, sort of an under-appreciated model. They're pretty bulletproof.
And, I also thought the CX-based SilverWing tourer was a great mid-size bike, and though I never owned one, the few people I'd run into occasionally out there with 'em would always give ya very positive feedback about their ride.

Back in the day, I wanted a GL500. I think I remember Ian saying that he had one "around back" a year or so ago. One day, I hope he resurrects it, but he's probably too busy for that kind of stuff now.
And I don't remember the CB350 ever having a painted front fender (got one of those from Mom & Dad for HS graduation - waaaay back in '73).
I'm going to speculate it's a late 60's/early 70's CB175 with some airbrushing to obscure the brand a bit for the ad. Was common practice back then.
