When I bought my Georgia truck recently, I first went to my local Florida DMV office and asked them exactly what I needed, if anything had to be notarized, etc. Learned some things and took an odometer form with me that saved me a wasted trip back to Georgia.
Or, if the NY officials give you any trouble, just tell them you researched it on BA.com
