Would you believe I have gotten into arguments with that very thing about Canadians being American too?!?! News flash everyone, we are the United States OF America, shortened from North America, the continent on which our country lies, and is shared with Canada AND Mexico! Technically, everyone in the western hemisphere can say they are proud to be an American!
