Well, I've made my decision and started down the path to the changes. I have ordered a Koso Mini Speedometer and will be installing it as soon as it arrives.

Full credit to Mountainman. As far as I can tell, he was the first (maybe only) person to go this route. This thread has more info on what he (and some others) did.

This speedo has the basic features that I wanted for the bike: Small and will fit in the console, odometer, trip meter with remote button (instead of a dial on the side). I found a nice button that I will be installing in the console. Since I no longer have turn signals, I am going to be mounting the button in place of the signal indicator light.

One challenge with this approach is that it appears that I am going to have to cannibalize my Tach for the bezel, cup and mounting. Not ideal, but since I want a VERY clean setup, that is the route I plan to take.

I have already removed my speedometer and sealed up the cable mount at the front wheel. I also redid my wiring a few nights ago and ran the controls wiring through the handlebars. Although I don't have the speedo yet, the set up is much improved and cleaner.

Lastly, since these threads are "worthless without photos", here is the progress so far. The end result will essentially look just like this, but instead of the Tach in the console, a very similar looking Speedo will be there.

Cheers,
Steven
