I live in Astoria, Queens, NY which I thought was a pretty good neighborhood. The other night somebody shot and murdered a member of the Hells Angels a few blocks from my house. It was really nasty and personal. The biker took five bullets to the head and then his head was stomped. At least the cops have a bloody footprint. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime...f_violence.html

And of course the media is quick to point out the tattoo thing. He wasn't just a guy... he was a biker, and not just a biker but a heavily tattooed biker. And don't ya know... around the same time cops found a woman's body and yup, she also had tattoos. Hmmmmm!

Sooooo John...I take it that you're "not exactly" one o' those "John Donne-For whom the bell tolls" kind'a guys, huh?! Well ol' buddy, in THIS instance I have to admit, I'm RIGHT THERE WITH YA, dude!!! (uh huh...I mean, what the h*** did the guy "THINK" might happen to him once he signed up to be a member in "good" standing with that "fine" organization, HUH?!...what?!...like if there's some kind'a major "disagreement" with somebody in ANOTHER one of these kind of "fine" organizations, they're gonna sit down and have a "spirited DEBATE" with each other or somethin'?!...yeah, THAT "must have" been it alright!...he must've just been a mite confused about the friggin' BYLAWS of that "fine" organization before he joined up, huh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Oh, and btw out there...Because it seems every time one of these sorts of "Another H*lls Angel is murdered" thread appears on this website and after I or others here respond to it by stating something "less than positive" about that organization, there's usually at least one person who will attempt to "defend" them...wellllll..IF that "somebody" NOW wishes to "correct" what you might feel is my "misunderstanding" of this "fine" organization and/or those with similar "bylaws", PLEASE save your friggin' breath, or I guess in this case, your friggin' KEYSTROKES, because you see, YOU would be wasting your aforementioned breath and/or keystrokes on such efforts, at LEAST in my case anyway. BECAUSE you see, I happen to be one of those folks who's main philosophy in life is that of a famous quote by the late great Groucho Marx, and which goes like THIS: "I would NEVER become a member of ANY organization which would accept ME as a member!" (and unfortunately, at LEAST in MY estimation anyway, there are FAR TOO FEW people on this planet who live or who SHOULD live their lives utilizing this very sound "principle"...and the world is often a MUCH poorer place for it!!!)

Really didn't have to happen..Especialy this type .As it most likely was an earned death,by people who make themselves judge and jury.Life was never intended to be this way, JMO and how i see things.
Taking out the trash.......hhmmmm good possibility though

Across the river from NYC, near Secaucus an old hot dog stand has a weekly bike night (Wed, Rhutt's Hutt in Pasaic). Earlier this year the HA was walking around one event handing out flyers for their summer party. At the next event, three other competing clubs were walking around with their material, which was mostly anti HA (too corporate, not a real bike club any more, etc.) I guess those boys just don't play well together.

I can see and agree with the range of opinions on this one - you know what youre getting into when you prospect(or will do shortly after) but there's a whole range of folks in backpatch clubs for a whole host of reasons and not all are evil/violent......though then again there's others I wouldnt want to lend my chainsaw.

Nobody deserves to die? Well that's not quite true, but don't want to go violatin' the AUP... But I will say this: of the people who MIGHT deserve to die, chances are there are quite a few members of outlaw (see, I said OUTLAW) motorcycle gangs on that list. Jus'sayin'...

Now that's pretty strong punishment for participating in non-MMA sanctioned events*.

Aside from the motorcycles, what is the difference between certain motorcycle Ć¢ā¬ÅclubsĆ¢ā¬Ā and the mafia, drug cartels or street gangs? They are all organizations that engage in criminal activity, violence and intimidation. Murder is simply part of the territory. The fact that they started out as motorcycle clubs is not really relevant.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Yep Larry, that's pretty much true as far as I could ever tell.
HowEVER, at least you have to hand it to the Angels' choice of transportation as compared to, say, what the Mafia might cruise around in, right?!
(I mean...the Angels can park WAY MORE Harleys in front of THEIR "clubhouse", than can the La Cosa Nostra park those Lincoln Town Cars in front of THEIR "clubhouse"...RIGHT?!)

I'm heavily tattoo'd and ride a bike. Hope no one shoots me in the head a bunch. Course, I'm not an outlaw by any means. Break a law here and there but nothing serious. And I do wear a helmet everywhere I go just in case now.

Then you better hope it's gang-on-gang or intra-gang violence rather than some random dumbass redneck who was stereotyping all bikers, because with the former it's all about the patch(es).

I take it Astoria is kinda posh?
It makes no difference. If I go to the end of my street there is a road where the houses are probably ĆĀ£20,000 or so dearer just because they are on that street. Some of them must be pushing ĆĀ£1M. If I turn right onto that street I go past a load of large semi detached houses overlooking fields (these are not worth ĆĀ£1M BTW) and I always know when the Outlaws are having a meet as the member who lives in one of these houses parks his bike by the road so that the club know which house it is, as going by the house you would think a middle class family with the obligatory 2.3 children lived there
Its a lifestyle I do not want, and I resent it when people think we are all like that
Although I will admit I was pleasantly surprised when one time they were gathering for a meet and I was going in the opposite direction and I got a few admiring glances, nods and waves from them
Oh, the admiring glances were at the bike, not me. I just want to be clear on that

Yeah Paul, I suppose you could be right!
Yep, when I read Cycle World's latest helmet Round-Up, they DID mention that some o' those Shoei's ARE pretty tough and..ahem.."bulletproof" little suckers, alright!
Though, somethin's tellin' me here that IF the dude even actually OWNED a helmet, it probably wouldn't have passed even Snell's lowest rating...let alone even be D.O.T. approved!!!
(...and that "somethin'" that's tellin' me that, MIGHT just be the "demographics involved" in this incident, ya see!)

I've been thinking carefully about how to respond to all this....and debating whether or not to 'come clean'..... so..... I am a member of a UK backpatch club(No,I'm not M.C.), and would like to put clearly on record the following. I earned my patch. I do not engage in acts of violence nor criminal behaviour Nor do I condone these by others-from whatever source. My point? Please judge the idividual by their actions not their clothes and supposed lifestyle. I hold down a responsible job and consider myself an asset to the community and many of my fellow club members would be considerd the same. (Though I'm still awful careful who I lend that chainsaw to.)

Recently a former HA Tucson chapter president and his wife were both arrested for murder after a missing persons report resulted in that persons body being found in a shallow grave on their property. Its important to remember though that the affiliation with the HA is not indicative of a greater trend towards felonious activity. LOL.
So there is no reason for anyone to "defend" these members of one percent clubs. They do after all live by an honorable credo that allows them to do just about anything for their club just like all the gangs MC or not.
They all go to one percenter heaven when they die. Its a special segregated part of the great beyond. Free beer and meth for the duration and they never have to change the oil on their Harleys.

Okay Alan, I think we get your point here, Bro! Yep, I think most of us know that there are "legit" motorcycle clubs out there, AND some of 'em run the gamut from middle-aged collectors of vintage and classic motorcycles, to Women-only clubs, to Christain-oriented clubs, to tattooed and vest wearing but mostly 9-to-5ers with legitimate jobs!
But DUDE...we WERE talkin' about the H*LLS-friggin'-ANGELS here, ya see! And maybe you haven't heard, by MANY of THEM are definitely INTO some VERY ILLEGITIMATE endeavors!

The thing I can't understand is the way everyone assumes that most motorcycle clubs engage in "organized" crime. Over the years, I have been a member of a number of so called "outlaw" clubs and it has been my observation that it is nearly impossible the get them organized enough to hold a club meeting. As to this event, I noticed that the murderer was said to have walked off, NOT jumped on his bike and rode off. Chances are fairly good that this was some self appointed vigilante who was bent on ridding his neighborhood of "biker trash".

Yeah, good point about the "vigilante" thing, GB. That could have been it too! Yep, there ARE more than a few people out there who think they're SOOOOO friggin' "right" about their opinions that they'll take the law into their own hands sometimes! Yep, and THOSE morons don't EVEN have to belong to a "CLUB"!!! Though, sometimes if ya get two or more of THOSE kinds o' morons together, they seem to be able to rile each other up, and THEN sometimes ALL H*LL can ensue, huh?! (...hence my stated position above about the wise course of attempting to always adhere to the Groucho Marx philosophy of joining groups...less people together, and thus the possibly of less mayhem!)

Ya know folks, I've been thinkin' here that MAYBE all those poor ol' Angels might need is a good publicist!
YEAH, that's it...a "good publicist"!
And ya know, I WOULDN'T mind takin' on that job IF I wasn't so presently overwhelmed with what USED to my part-time job, but NOW has become this dang FULL TIME position as a publicist for somebody else!
