I missed him here a few weeks ago at an outdoor event. Ted was my first concert, supporting the "Cat Scratch Fever" album. That was in his loin-cloth days. I still have the program book. I was 14, my friends mom drove us down to the Washington DC "Capital Centre" (now demolished), dropped us off and said "you boys have fun". Well, that was a different world in the 70's, we did have fun....
I brought the book home, my Dad read the first page where Ted describes his music, using some pretty explicit sexual terms. He took it away from me, but I found it years later in their basement.
Hear a Nugent song still makes me smile and remember that first concert.

He held a concert at Magic Springs in Hot Springs last week. Had to work, couldn't go.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

I like the way the man thinks! If you have ever heard him in an interview, he has some good ideas that I think would work great but I probably shouldn't get into that here.

Yes, his interviews are interesting BUT he truly lets it all hang out in concert,,,,,, It was funny when he showed every one his automatic weapon permit and where he kept it and what he refered to that particular filing cabinet as....and the kid can REALLY make a guitar talk !

First Music I ever bought was Double Live Gonzo (8 Track) with my first paycheck. Mom came home just in time to hear Ted's dedication to all the Nashville 'kitty' out there. She took the tape out and stomped it to pieces right there in the living room...

Ah yes, Double Live Gonzo. That was fairly costly then, no? The Great White Buffalo, look out look out! NYS Fair has some decent "free" shows. He was one of em. Still rocks.

Yeah, it was a similar reference in his concert book that set my Pop off..... Quote:

Ted was my first concert I ever went to close to 25 years ago. It was an outdoor concert in upstate NY. Ted walks onto the stage and sees the forest and announces to the crowd; 'let me know if anyone sees a f'n bear out there...I haven't killed anything today.' The band immediately broke into Stranglehold and it was on!
