I've noticed this sometimes when I am at a stop light - when the light goes green for me as I try to pull away the engine will sometimes stall. I can start the bike right up (except for those times when for some strange reason I think the horn button is the start button ). It seems to happen when I have run the bike awhile, say on the freeway from my town to Seattle (30 miles).

I have learned to "goose" the engine (rev it) a bit just before I take off from the stop and then there's no problem. I have heard other riders do this as well, and thought it was just for show. Is this something with air-cooled engines? Thanks for your help.
