Ooooh, I was just thinking I might ride over for that but the demo truck is going to be in Spokane the week before. Actually I was thinking of riding over to the coast and seeing all you knuckleheads in September. Loose plan though, nothing concrete yet.

A small group are coming up on Saturday from Corvallis. I am hoping to ride the Thunderbird and Rocket III, if time allows I'd take that hooligan Speed Triple for a romp too.

HIJACK!!!

Still going to Spokane this Friday (the 30th) for the demo truck. I'll try to wear out as many bikes as I can with my fatass for y'all.

Then take Friday off and head down south and wear them out again. It's only 12 hours away.

Although the Triumph Demo event was poorly planned (on Triumph's part, not CascadeMoto's), they had too many Thunderbirds and little of anything else, I had a great day. 9 Thunderbirds, 2 Rocket IIIs, only one of each other model, no Sprint GT and a 2 and a half hour wait to ride the next available bike left me riding.......one of the 9 Thunderbirds.

Nothing against the Thunderbird, nice bike and plenty of torque but my America would outrun it on a twisty road.
I scraped my boot twice on a couple of easy sweepers. It's sure fun to wick it up on the straights but a lot of bike to push through the turns.

But it was good to see you again Soren.

I echo Bravura sentiments exactly..I never stayed 2+ hours to ride..left home at 800am,arrived at noon, lunch and visit, left at 200pm and home at 600pm...and no t-shirt..recieved postcard in mail and immediately emailed response(out of state,so a day late!),also recieved phone call reminder from Cascade about demo,so was obviously disappointed ...I feel that Cascade should have stepped up and made the rides more accomodating(why the one roadster out every other run??)16 runs in 8 hour day but only 8 Roadster rides and only 8 R3T rides??

life is good..I am retired..sold my America in 2008,bought a Rocket and sold that in 3/2013 and now own a new Triumph Bonneville T-100

In Spokane they had the two groups of bikes running staggered. The Rockets were in the same group. Luckily I got there on the "slow day" and rode the Roaster. I got there early on the "main day" and signed up for the R3T first. Took a few hours to get around to the one Scrambler, my last ride of the day.

Oh, what did p!ss me off is that they allowed certain people to schedule bikes ahead, like a couple hours ahead, but not most of us schlubs. Saturday (main day) morning I got there and signed up for the R3T and said, next I want to ride the Big Bore T-bird. But little chickadee says, come talk to me after you're done riding the R3T. Then when I wanted to ride the Scrambler it was like, sorry, someone else has that scheduled but if he doesn't show up you can take it. "Scheduled"!?! WTF!?!

So naturally I take a big bore t-bird out and find out much too late the jackhole didn't show up... as I was leaving the lot!

Basically get there early and just as soon as you can jump off the bike on your return, run up to the table and see what's available. Mostly just get there early.

The Triumph demo guys need to take lessons from the Harley Demo team. The HD demo day I attended was extremely well organized. I had plenty of time to demo 5 different bikes with more time to ride others but I was hungry and had to leave. Sorry to hear the Portland and Spokane events were a bit of a letdown.

It was fun. Although my head and neck is fried to a crisp standing out there for two days. Yes, they had a couple too many T-Birds. The biggest request was the Tiger and the R3 Roadster. Unfortunately, Triumph only had one of each.

I got to talk to a lot of different people of different riding levels and into different kinds of riding and it was good to see and talk to people that I only get to see once or twice a year.

The whole thing ran prety darn smooth. And there was food there. The Search and Rescue Explorer Scout post had hot dogs and hamburgers, plus free water, coffee, donuts and cookies from CMC.

I've been to other Triumph Demo Truck events in other areas, and I have to say (not just because I was working all weekend), that it was the best one yet. All the way up untl the last ride of the day, I would have to say that there was no less than 100 people there at any given time. We were able to get the lines out every half hour like clock-work.

I had a good time, I only got three rides in, because like Friar nothing was gonna stop me from riding that Roadster, which meant I had to wait 4 hours to take my first ride. It was fine though. I just chatted with a lot of different folks. Also like Friar, I raced up right after getting off of the Roadster and tried to get on the Scrambler, but it was booked all day. I took out a T-100 instead (very fun), and then the black solo seat T-Bird, and was pretty disapointed. I scraped on almost every turn. I got on my Speedmaster, and thought another year or two and there will be a Rocket along side it, but I'm not really in a hurry.

Just thought of another vanity plate (a series I've been posting on Twitter/Facebook) for the R3R based on a typo I made above, "ROASTR" TIRE Roaster...
