These are the same people who walk around with their heads full of what they are doing, where they are going, what someone said to them etc but nobody is looking around to see who is watching them and they have not a clue about situational awareness.

I cannot tell you of how many folks go to a casino and win some money and drive home. They hit the garage door opener and drive into the garage. Before they even have a chance to exit the car a couple of thugs who had them under observation at the casino and have followed them home run throught the descending garage door and put knives to the throats of the unaware victims. Now they have them inside their garage. Everybody in the neighborhood is inside their air conditioned houses and unaware of their plight.

They give up their valuables, their homes get ransacked, they are forced to give up their ATM cards and PIN and the bad guys either tie them up or kill them. It is known hereabouts as a home invasion and it common.

If only people would be more aware of what is going on around them and when they get home...back into their garage with the nose of the car facing the street. If their garage door between the house and the garage is locked with a deadbolt lock and they see a pair of BG's coming though the garage door all they have to do is put the car into drive and drive out and to safety. The garage is open to the mutts but not the interior of the house and they are away and safe.

No, they all say this is a safe neighborhood and then after the crime they blame it on the police.

When we first moved to town in '93 my then wife was driving home in our GMC full size Jimmy 4 x 4 and she noticed that she was being followed by a pair of guys in a pu truck. She passed by the house and drove to a large parking lot in a busy area. They followed her and parked a hundred feet away. She reached under the blanket on the rear floor and removed her 12 Gauge Mossberg and walked over to their truck. When she got about 20 feet away she yelled out to them "I don't know what you want but I have something for you" She then racked a round into the chamber and the mutts left rubber on the ground as they sped away and left her alone. This was a decent neighborhood but populated with visiting BG's from other areas and she took care of business.

AS a retired LEO from NYC I have always been packing some type of handgun with me everywhere and I have been in that Costco many times. Every time with my handgun hanging out in the breeze on my right hip and with extra rounds available in my pockets on in magazine in carriers on my hip.

One time a Costco manager asked me to not wear my gun in his store. I advised him that according to NVS I can carry my firearm anywhere except a governmental building or a school. If he wants me to disarm myself then he needs to put up signs of at least 12" x 18" inches which clearly state that no firearms are allowed in this building. As he has not complied then I will wear my fiream to protect myself and I will continue to shop. However if you put up such a sign you will lose my business forever.

I go everywhere with my firarm on my hip and although I get a few sideways glances notbody sez much about it. One day while walking my dogs with my wife in a park type canyon close to home we came up a lady with a smaller poodle type dog and she had something to say about my carrying a Smith and Wesson 6 tubed revoler on a holster about in the park. She went on and on about how safe the neighborhood was etc and she wanted to know why I needed a gun. I explained to her that the local coyotes do not care about the fancy neighborhood and they love small dogs for dinner. She huffed off and we went the other way. A short time later we heard screaming and yelling coming from her direction. We hoofed it over there and found the same liberal anti gun lady crying and screaming about the wolf that had taken her small dog away. We found a blood trail and coyote tracks in some soft mud next to a sprinkler head. She was on the phone calling the police and we left the area to her and her liberal ideology.

This area has been the home hunting grounds for Coyotes for millions of years and they have readily adapted to the proximity of mankind. Man has brought a lovely snack for Coyotes.....cats, small dogs and garbage. We lived in Sun City and we had a fattest and sleekest and most well fed Coyotes in Nevada. They had lots of rabbits, quail, dogs, cats and lots of garbage to feast on. They are stil here. There are not a lot of surviving wandering cats in this neighborhood. No stray dogs either. It is a quiet but deadly neighborhood for small critters and a happy hunting ground for the criminals who live in the lower priced neighborhoods.

Some years ago in Utah during a bank robbery the BG announced a robbery and let off a shot into the ceiling. Promptly he was shot by three customers from different directions who were carrying a concealed fiream in that gun friendly state. He died in a pile on the floor from being shot. They saved the state a lot money and lived their lives after that without worry as they had the wherewithal to protect themselves in extremis.

Big Bill knows me and he knows that I pack all the time. We had taken a ride to VOF some time ago with BillP from Vegas and I was packing my 1911 at that time. I was however required to unload my gun when in the Lake Mead Federal parkland but I had a loaded magazine handy anyway.
