Adventure completed...... Headed West on the trusty '97 Sprint Sport...encountered torrential rain about Yukon , Oklahoma...but I'm determined to make it to Tucumcari..... Just befor Sayre , Oklahoma the lovely beast begins to fishtail a little at 80mph....sounds like it needs some air in the back tire !, luckily there was a truck stop and an exit at that moment and they were open (it is July 4th mind you) ..long story short, the Sprint was suffering from a busted back rim, not an easy fix, so I call "the lovely & gracious" and she hooks up the trailer and heads the 350 miles to get us ( me and the bike). While at the truck stop for 5-hours waiting for my ride home the bike and I became a one man bike show.... people kept coming buy to talk, most seemed amazed Triumph was still around and others did not miss the humor of it being July the 4th and the British bike was "broken" , But being the only entrant in this bike show evidentally ment I won all the prizes...a couple of Harley riders brought me a 32oz Bush beer , a lady brought me a Taco-Bell "happy meal" and a nice kid brought me an ice cold pepsi....got to visit with people not only locally but from multiple states... even got to enjoy a fine hand rolled cigar...... yep, missed Tucumcari and a jog up to scenic Las Vegas, New Mexico but still had an enjoyable time on the 4th....the wife showed up and alas... the bike and I are back home in Muldrow, Oklahoma It's not the destination !
