I also have been lurking around for a while and thought I should register and reply. I ride a 73 Triumph Tiger that I found and got repaired and running about a year ago. I have been looking to get another bike and have been looking for info about the America and this sure seems to be the place.

I to have been lurking for a little bit until I found out how to register. I have a 2005 America I bought new in July installed tall sissy bar, triumph long off roads, 19 tooth sproket, no luggage except for a saddlemen drifter sissybar pack, removed the ai and its been heaven since day one. Now I have almost 1400 miles and try to get out every time the weather breaks above 40. Hopefully I'll see some of you at these triumph rides.

Im a lurking stranger with zero posts... er, 1 post.
(I actually registered a year or two ago and posted a couple times. But that was awhile back.)

A little bit about spiffy: I like bikes! Especially cruisers. Mostly owned big cruisers (Yamaha Roadstar & Royalstar) but always had a soft spot for Triumph Bonnevilles (my dad owned a '69 bonnie back the early 70's). So while I still owned the "roadie", bought myself a '79 bonnie to play with. I thought it was the perfect bike for running around town on - which makes up about 99% of my riding - but had a lot of electrical problems and sold it. Next I got a '02 bonnie and sold my big cruiser shortly thereafter. Loved the "new" bonnie but really missed the cruiser style. So I wound up selling the new bonnie and getting another big cruiser (the royalstar). This bike turned out to be rather impractical for me and once again I found myself wanting a smaller more nimble bike. Sold the "royal" and am currently bikeless.

Anyway, I always thought the Triumph America or Speedmaster would be the perfect niche bike for me and my riding style. So, here I am in the market for one. (if only I had come to my senses sooner, eh?)

My name is Jason Strickland. I'm from Jacksonville, Alabama. I've been riding since I was 15. I have a 05 TBA. Right now its in the shop. Down to the frame and engine. The forks, tank, fenders, and every other body part are at the paint shop/poweder coater. I've posted pics as thigs get finished. However, nothing has been accomplished lately.

I'M LABELED A STRANGER BUT I'VE BEEN A MEMBER FOR A WHILE AND CHECK THE FORUMS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK OR WHEN I HAVE A TECH ISSUE I NEED RESOLVED. YOU REGULARS ARE PRETTY COOL AND YOU ALL SEEM TO KNOW EACH OTHER OR RIDE TOGETHER. I'VE BEEN WANTING TO POST A PIC OF MY BIKE BUT TO LAZY TO GO OUT AND DO IT. YOU MIGHT NOT HERE MUCH FROM ME BUT I'M GRATEFUL FOR THIS SITE AND YOU GUYS THAT HAVE HELPED ME IN THE PAST. SEEMS IF I EVER HAVE A PROBLEM, CHANCES ARE SOMEBODY HERE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAS COME COME UP WITH A GOOD SOLUTION FOR A FIX. I OWE YOU GUYS FOR SAVING ME FROM ALOT OF HEADACHES SEARCHING OR WORRYING ABOUT A PROBLEM THAT I GOT RESOLVED SIMPLY BY LOGGING ON TO THIS SITE. OR SAVING ME MONEY BY READING YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT NEW PRODUCTS AND AFTER MARKET ACCESSORIES. THANKS AGAIN AND IF I CAN DO SOMETHING FOR YOU GUYS, LET ME KNOW. I'M A WEST COASTER SO IF YOU'RE IN THE AREA LET ME KNOW AND MAYBE WE CAN RIDE SOMETIME.

I wasn't a lurker, now I feel like one though!
Only been home 3 or 4 days since the end of January and no notebook for on the road!
Oh well, Nancys TBA is lonely and told me she wanted a Rocket 3 as a playmate!
Who am I to argue?

Kevin Burke ...alive and well in sunny Tucson , Arizona where you can literally ride all year round for the most part other than chilly mornings in the winter and a few monsoon rains here and there in July/August.

I have lived and worked in Tucson since 1977 when I arrived here for my final stint of duty in the USAF.

I am married, middle aged, muddled at times, and manipulated by my other half when she sees fit. She did not like the idea of me getting a bike but she is over it now.

My bike is an 04 speedmaster that the local dealer picked up from someplace. I have had her since 18 February.

I looked at Hondas and yammerhammers and kawasakies and came straight back to the Triumph. Its the only middle weight cruiser out there that looks like a motorcycle and stands out in a crowd.

I find this forum to be the cats proverbial meow simply for its dedication to the America/Speedmaster. Talk about having a place to come to to get all your questions answered..this place cannot be beat.

It's loco here.....probably cause of how long winter seems to last around here. Bought the America last August mostly because of all the cool stuff I read in this forum. I managed to rack over 3000 miles before the winter blues set in.......

I check in to ba.com most every day. It has cost me dearly!! Just got the Epcos and waiting for the Freak to arrive.. (on B/O from Brent!!) Many other goodies coming...

Counting the days til takeoff........

I started lurking on this site a couple years back when I had a 2002 America. I don't post very often as I rarely have anything intelligent to say. I now have a 2004 Speedmaster and nothing intelligent to say. Rest assured however, if I think of anything you guy's will be the first to know.

You know how it is in life....you get busy with other stuff. I've been floating around for a few years. I used to post once in awhile. These days I'm only checking out the site about once a month. I lost some steam when the site was upgraded. I ride with the very informal Norcal Triumph Riders. That's what we call ourselves though we're not exclusively Truimph. We do about a dozen day rides a year and a couple of overnighters. I'll probably post soon because I need one stock mirror and I want to sell a custom Windvest windshield for a BA. It's perfect, I just never use it.

I'm one of the daytime lurkers when at work....they won't lt me login at work.

Means i tend to forget the clever quips when I get home....

The only annoying thing about not logging in is the search facility doesn;t work....

Hi my names Joe. I bought an 05 Speedmaster back in Oct. I love it. I've been lurking around gathering information from this board about exhaust, gearing, carbs, accesories, and such. Using the info from this board I decided to modify my stock exhaust. One baffel out, test ride tomorrow.

I'm Faye, from beautiful Melrose, FL.

I have on 04 America. Before I do ANYTHING to my bike, I check here first, these guys have tried everything, at least once, and knows what works. All of the mods that I have made have been "proven" here first. It is an invaluable resource.

I lurk more than I post, checking in about once a week, now that my bike is just about perfect. Joined the old site, then about three months later, this one, when it came into being.

Triumphs and this site rule!

You're on crack. Not all the views are the lurkers. 71 posts, spread over about a month, with at least several dozen "regulars" viewing the post everytime a new reply is posted? That could easily account for 1500 views. Heck, I probably account for several-dozen or so views myself.

Ok, you caught me. I originally signed up in April 2003 when I bought my '03 America. I used to visit the site often but rarely shared my 2 cents. When this new site format came about I had difficulty re-signing and just gave up. Well, I decided to give it another shot, so here I am, Budman is back, like it or not. But don't expect a lot of feedback from me, I'm a lurker at heart.

I was also pretty active on the old board. Just been "lurking" here on the new one.

I have noticed over the years that the more I stay away from this site, the more money I have!!! Well since I've been checking in over the past couple of days...I ordered a Wind Vest (should have it today), flush mount gas cap and some other goodies! This place is so dangerous to my bank account that I am calling Corbin today about a new seat.

Glad to be back!

Luis
