This years World Cup is like the Second World War. The French have surrendered, the Italians gave up, the Yanks showed up late and we're(the English) left to fight the Germans!!! I found this quote from my local English Pub in Vegas....I know who would have thought that, an English Pub in Vegas????

So Bill, what's so unusual about that???
Word is even the Brits aren't all that crazy about all that cold and wet weather they have over there on that li'l ol' island o' theirs. And so, why wouldn't some of 'em seek respite from all that in Vegas now and then, huh?!
(BTW...that was a funny line above about the soccer teams!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Yeah and Japan suprised us!
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

I hear that some of the English fans are already making their way to the ground ahead of tomorrow's game ... so they can get their towels on the seats in advance

Man, you sure know how to make friends!! .
Not that I am following the football, but I take it from your earlier comment about the "insiders" (in the German team) that they are the only Poles there - the Polish national team didn't qualify??
Sounds to me like you have a touch of the "Scottish disease" - support your home country and anyone playing England!!

Football? I didn't see anything on the Chargers schedule about any games in June. They dont even have a pre-season game scheduled until August 14th.

Uh huh...yep, "real" football, eh Grzegorz?!
Ooooh, you mean that game where the slightest little contact often brings out the Lawrence Olivier/Marlon Brando/(insert your favorite actor here) in the players?! Kind'a like THIS....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJwVVPkQEJs
Whereas that "fake" football we Yanks play over here often has this kind'a action and still the player usually bounce right back up afterward like THIS....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5tt_D4PFYk
(uh huh...I think I know what you're talkin' about here, dude!!!)

What about frenchies ! It's a shame ! Here in France we already did not appreciate how our team was qualified for the world cup, but now, there is not a lot of frenchies who support the french team anymore. They all must get fired!
I do not read/write english very well. Thank's to be patient.

Well, I suppose that's a reasonably made point there, G!
However, call me an "Attention-Deficit Disorder Sufferer" if ya want, BUT I think I'll stay watchin' this game over here that features the kind of action I showed ya in that second youtube video(yep, even with all the timeouts and all the stupid beer commercial they run for all these lousy-tasting mass-produced American beers), than I would watchin' a bunch of fellows running around in shorts non-stop for 90 minutes(and maybe more ) while kickin' at each other's ankles, WITH often the end result being a "rousing" 1-0 score! (...if THAT!!!)

I didn't even watch the game because of this rather pessimistic outlook I had today. Opted for a nice day out on the bike instead and sooo glad I did. Apparently England have a friendly lined up against Iceland soon. Then Tesos , Asda n Morrisons.

Asda are owned by Walmart, which is a company from the USA, so we know who'll win that game. Hint: they speak funny and can't spell
As for Dwights two clips, if the antics in clip 1 could be guaranteed I might start watching for the laughs
And is clip 2 indicative of American throw-and-catch-ball? Cos all I got was an advert then a black screen
I think I might need to go on a course for How to make friends and influence people. But where's the fun in that?

You mean the game called FOOTball where the players actually use their feet?
