Thanks for the encouragement guys, the front fender came out awesome and works great! I had Steg von Heintz over at Psycho Cycles carve up the fender itself for a more radical look. I was planning on doing it myself but changed my mind when I found out the fender's plastic. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but I think it came out badass.
Here's what I did. Removed the fender bracket:

Painted on some guide lines:

Cut the one piece fender into 2 pieces and rattle canned it with Rustoleum:

Slapped it all back together. Just waiting on my Pacific Blue touch up paint to arrive from back order and it'll be done.

The guy at the tire store said he thought the new tire would make the bike feel sluggish in turns, but I have to say that I like it a lot better.
