Well, things are looking up...maybe. If you are not familiar with LeatherLyke saddlebags, they are hard bags, quick attach and they have a hinged lid and locks. I knew they had made them for the Rocket, but now they have added the Bonneville T100. They are willing to make them for the America but need a 'model'!! Anyone live near San Antonio??? Call Shirley at 1-800-594-2008. I type in LeatherLyke saddlebags on Yahoo search and their address is something like 'hoese.com'....sorry, didn't write it down. In the meantime, I will continue my hunt for accessories!

I live in San Antonio, let me know where they want my bike and when, they can have it to measure. Sent you a PM with my mobile number. They are in Bulverde, Texas. About 25 minutes from the house.

This sounds eerily familiar...seems like we tried to go down this road last year with LeatherLyke.

At least this year they can't say they don't have a model. I don't use bags but they can have my bike any day to measure. Would be nice it they made em for the SM and America though.
One would think they can slightly alter the bags they already make for the 883 to fit ours. Rears are very similar.

Talked with LeatherLyke. Will drop my bike to them next week so they can measure up for the America and Speedmaster.

Great Ron, You don't use bags, but they're gonna give you a set? (that's usually the going rate for "models"). Then you can sent them to me (I'll pay postage). I'll drive to SanAn for those bags, let 'em use my bike - I can't be there until a week from Monday. They make great bags, but they are not worth what they charge. They only make two different bags, then drill holes to match the different models of bikes.

I don't use bags Skillet but: Do you think they will give me some for the two days they need my bike to fit and fit for production? That would be a good deal maybe I should bring it up.
They don't seem to be real excited about our bikes due to the lack of market but the boss told them to definately get the measurements for them.

I think that's pretty much what vendors do - give you the model they work with. I'd ask anyway. I like the shape of L L bags, but don't care for the studs. Their "studless" bags have their name emblazened on the side so I like the studs better.

Now it is gonna get interesting. Tried to set an appt. for Friday but he couldn't do it. Now they want my bike for two days at their place. Maybe tomarrow if I get time to drop it but now have to arrange a ride back home. Nothing is easy lol. There is no way they can have it into Saturday, going on a poker run our of New Braunfels. Hint to TexasTriumph who happens to be 35 minutes north of there. :-)

They've been blowing people off for four years. Color me skeptical until I see a pair actually mounted on one of our bikes.

Talked with them today to drop my bike this afternoon, he said he has a guy from Austin set up to leave his bike with him next week to be fitted so I am out somebody from Austin is in. Suits me fine, maybe it will get done. Peter is the one that fits them. He really doesn't seem too keen on it.
The Honda bikes are keeping them very busy. Apparently they are doing a huge VTX business.

Thank you all in Texas for the help at LeatherLyke and getting your bikes there so they can measure and fit for the hard bags. I really appreciate your efforts. I'll be second in line to get myself a set of these bags...after the demo bags! I am so tired of buckles and straps and trying to clean my bike around some saddlebags and support bars, etc. As soon as weather gets better I am going to Fog Hollow here in MO and taking my bike so I can see what racks and sissybar supports etc will fit. They said I can 'try them on in the parking lot'. Beats a 20% restocking fee or no refund stuff that you can run into. Thanks again for all the help.

Not a problem at all Ms. P. Good luck at Fog Hollow. Not sure how much stuff you will find that fits. The Triumph Sissybar is actually pretty cool but it is a bit expensive.
