I don't think that it's gong to be that much of a showdown Geoff. The big showdowns are when we play the Ducatis and the BMWs. Otherwise I'm all for getting behind the team but quite frankly it makes me shudder seeing all the flags of "St Chav" flying off cars and being used as curtains. It just looks like there are loads of first aid dressing stations everywhere.

Ya know, it's funny that you bring up the issue of the flags and sporting event here, Graham. You see, recently there was a guy from Mexico named Jose who went to see a MLS(that's our Major League Soccer over here) game in Los Angeles for which he didn't have a ticket, and when he got the stadium he found out the match was sold out. However, one of the guys workin' the ticket both told Jose that the only seat left in the stadium left unsold was a seat right behind the flagpole at the very top of the stadium, and that is usually goes unsold because the flagpole kind'a blocks the view of the field. But Jose, being the diehard soccer fan that he was, went ahead a bought that last seat anyway. After he returned to Mexico the next day(yeah, yeah, I know, THAT doesn't happen all that much)...well ANYWAY...after he returned to Mexico the next day, all his amigos asked him if he had a good time at the match and how the Norte Americanos treated him while he was there. And he replied.... "Oh, de game she was very very good, and those Norte Americanos was VERY nice people. In FACT, just before de game she start, everybody stand up all at once, dey look up at me, and dey ask me, "Jose, can you see?", and then to me dey all begin to sing!" (yeah, sorry folks, I know that's an REALLY old joke, but it still tickles me!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Blimey Dwight - my ribs are still aching from the concert I went to last week. Then you go and pull that old chestnut out of the fire.

Yep that was the end result 1 1 the triumph's scored in the 4th min . just before half time the goalkepper let a ball slip straight thro his little old gloves. As the triumphs were 2 / 1 on and the harleys were 6 /1 against with the bookies . you must say well done to them to get a draw. bookies win again as allways. atb geoff

So, who won? you guys confuse the sh-t out of me.

If you mean the defaced versions (FA badge, brewery names etc) of the St Georges flag, then I agree with you - if however you mean the St George flag itself, then I take exception to being called a "chav"! I am proud to be English and fly the flag all the time, and not just for football matches.
If you are insulting the English flag itself, I would suggest you review your attitude to National flags before you move to the US, because if you say something similar about the Star & Stripes, someone is likely to (rightly) shoot you!

Score was a draw 1 goal each. this is a 3 week tournament. with 8 groups the winners and runner ups of these go through to the next round. Hopefully both harley's and triumph teams will go through. They have to beat the other 2 teams in the group Slovenia and Algeria. You get 3 points for a win 1 point for a draw and none for losing. If after all the games the teams are leval then goal diffrence is used . Here is a link to the bbc webb site on the tournament.
