Can I cut a baffle out of my Tapered TORS?

I had a set of Bubs on order all spring and could never get them in, so I settled on some tapered TORS. I like the look of the exhaust, but it is just to quiet. I see a lot of posts about debaffling stock pipes, but has anybody debaffled TORS? Is it the same process?

The TORs I have are straight through, just a central perforated tube with absorbent material between it and the skin, I should imagine if you wanted to gut them a hole saw at each end and the tube could be pulled out, or you may be able to dremel of the welds.

I am hoping that there are a couple sets of baffles in the pipes. Has anybody debaffled their TORS?

Thanks for the link, but he is debaffling stock exhaust. I am asking whether or not I can cut a baffle out of my TOR exhaust.

I made a leap of faith and drilled the baffles out of my tapered tors without getting a response as to whether or not it could be done. Well, there were no problems, and actually no weld to break. I just drilled the back with a 1 3/8" hole saw, and the baffles came right out. There is only a small change in the sound of the exhaust, but it is noticeable.

Thanks for sharing your experience modding the tapered TORs. I have a set at home and might try the same thing. Did you get any additional air flow after gutting the mufflers?

Thank you for making the leap for all of us. I'm sorry noone helped you. I just got my 07 yesterday and it has the Long slash TORS and I think it is QUIET.

Glad you managed to open up those TOS a bit there, Mathew. Now that you've done that I wonder if it might be a thought to run with bigger jets to ensure you don't run too lean.

Live to love, love to live.

I am running the jets recommended for Bubs by the jetting calculator, so I think that I am a little rich if anything.
