I am still in the pursue of having a Dual Touring Seat made by Corbin like the R3 has. As you probably know I already have found a Canadian supplier to get me a seat. Which is fine but I still can't acquire what I am looking for. In order to get the seat I want I would have to ask one of you guys to show up with your bike to work from. I think this would not be a great challenge seeing everyone here is trying to help each other out. This would acquire me a seat, only me. Then I got to thinking, I want to help out and try to get them persuaded to build them on their line. So we could get another alternate choice of seat for our bikes.

I e-mailed Corbin, Well, I'll just let you read what I sent them and what their reply was. So I don't have to double type.

I am not sure how you guys go about introducing a new seat for any such bike but I would like to see more for the Triumph America's and Speedmasters. A heated Dual Touring seat to be exact. Like the one professionally made for the Triumph's Rocket 3.

How can I help this become a reality for me and I am sure many others. As you know the stock Triumph setup is very uncomfortable and I know you do make the Solo and pillion seat but a Dual touring seat would really set this bike off and I believe so would the sales.

I have been told that I can get this seat made by you guys but they would need the bike there to make it. Is this what happens with the other seats that are made for other bikes?

Please reply with some feed back.

Hey Willy,

We basically search for as much feedback as possible and make choices by pretty much guessing what people will want. A "seat of the pants" decision if you'll pardon the pun. Naturally, bike style, size, purpose all comes into the decision process. Given the cost involved with tooling up a new seat design, we obviously give these things a lot of thought.

Anyway, as you already figured out, to make a "one-off" we'd need you and the bike here and we could build if for you. In order to tool-up for production, we need to borrow a bike for several weeks. To get the decision made... well, you've already done part of that by asking for it. I'll pass the info along to Mike and Vince (R&D) and we'll see what happens.

Thanks for writing and if you know of anyone else interested, have them drop us a line (it gets more attention that way).
Chuck

Hi Willy,
An email request has been sent. Even though Corbin isn't my cup o tea. I even asked about beetle bags and that "alien" wind deflector for our bikes.
