Phelp's group showed up here in Minnesota at a soldier's funeral this week. It happened that the governor, Tim Pawlenty was at the funeral. He said later that he would sign legislation to keep protesters away from funerals. Good. Nobody who loses a loved one should have to put up with that kind of disrespect.
Phelps and his group are lunatics. They are completely detached from any kind of normal reality. This isn't a case of being too PC. This is a case of group insanity. It's hard to understand how anyone could follow a guy like that, but then, even Charley Manson had his followers.
