Looking to add speakers to my helmet for those long rides. One I was looking at was the Whistler BT2300 Bluetooth Headset, anyone have any exp. with this one or any other ones like it??

Thanks

I have Scala Q2.

I has bluetooth to phone and GPS. Works good.

FM Radio. Not so good. Reception not as good as hoped. Very difficult to set the pre-set stations.

Also has the ability to use MP3 player, although I haven't done this yet.

The main reason I got this one though is for the helmet to helmet intercom. Seems to work fine. Battery life is also good.

jcmotors has some good prices on these at the moment as well. It may be because the Q4 is coming out.

These intrique me as I'm on the hunt for the perfect way to get sound into my Helmet. Tried several options and none are real successful. These particular in helmet speakers are very thin and don't need alot of space.

This Motorola unit is my next attempt at Helmet sound. And it sounds promising! You pare your Bluetooth Ipod with this unit, plug in your Ipod ear buds, put your Ipod in your jacket pocket and clip the Motorola controller to your Jacket or handlebars. Put the ear buds in your ears, put helmet on and you get wireless sound as you roll down the road. The controller has all necessary music functions available, so no need to touch your Ipod. The Ipod ear pieces give me the best sound and fit very well under my helmet. I've seen this unit for $27's on the net. A road test will happen in a day or so.

I use ear plugs

Helps eliminate that "Slow down, you're going too fast" whine I used to get from the back

Upgrading the pillion helped with that aswell

I use Koss earbuds, they're kinda like foam ear plugs, you squezze them to fit and they fill back out. I can still hear what i need to as long as i keep the music down and they greatly reduce the wind noise. Only about $14 buck too.

If you guys keep with this sort of chatter, I'm gonna breach personal protocol and end up listening to music while I ride... so, stop it!!!

The helmet speakers on ebay (out of china) work well for me with my ipod - and they're cheap.

Not as good as my Sennheiser headphones but they do the trick and they have a volume control on the lead for easy adjusting while riding. They work best on a full face - to much wind noise on my open face. I do need to run them on full volume (loud pipes) but they are more comfortable for me than ear bud speakers which don't stay in the right position in my flappers.

If anyone's interested, just search ebay for "helmet speakers" and you'll find heaps of them - about $5 each.

Cheers, Richard
