All I'm lacking is brake fluid and some clips to hold the crossover line. I tried to use those metal clips from Newspeedmaster but I screwed them up trying to get them installed. Until I find a better solution I'll just pick up some stock clips (anybody got an extra set?). BTW, this is an Avon Venom 130/70-18. Fender rides a little high. Might have to "adjust" that. This is a stock fender bracket, not the one I modified to clear the 120/90-18 I was using before. Oh, and the bike is still filthy from riding in the rain last week.

I like the tire...I may go with that when I change them out

You could go with one hose to a tee then two hoses to the calipers...If you want I can take some close pictures of what I did

I'll probably do that eventually, when these hoses wear out or I change handlebars. But definitely post some pictures.

I know this has been talked about, but this was pretty much a direct bolt on right? I want spoked wheels so badly! But I love the duel discs. Lemme know!

Well, it's much easier if you have a Speedmaster to begin with. I had to trade my right fork leg and master cylinder to a Speedy owner on here who wanted spokes and didn't want to wait around for rare-as-rocking-horse-poop TBS wheel. I also bought his right caliper from him (and a spare 18" hoop and spokes he had). Found the TBS wheel on Evilbay. Single most expensive used item I've bought (and more expensive than most of the new). But considering a new TBS wheel from the factory was something like $800 and the brake kit was $620 new, I got off pretty light. I did have to buy new rotors and pads, not an inexpensive enterprise by itself. And if you go like I did and decide you don't want the 17" TBS rim, it will probably cost you at least $200-300 to have someone professionally relace the 18" America rim on the TBS hub. It only cost me $200 because "I know somebody."

Addendum: I also dismantled both fork legs for powder-coating when I swapped the right side. So that was all new seals and such. Not to mention a PITA. But you can't argue with the results. Well, somebody will, but I don't care.

Yep, it appears you sure know how to work with that "Unobtainium" alloy...aka, that TBS hub.

(BTW, how's the lever pull now compared to the original single rotor set-up?)

Dunno yet. Have to put some brake fluid in first. Not looking forward to bleeding the brakes, that's for sure.

Do yourself a favor and get one of those hand pumps. I've done it both ways and boy is that pump handy!

I have a mitivac pump. I always have trouble getting a good seal between the bleeder and the caliper and the bleeder and the hose. I see teflon tape and hose clamps in my future.

Just wanted to say COOL on you, John. Happy to see the ever-praised TBS wheel mounted on yer bike. Looking forward to some fully updated pics after you get all your work finished with the smooth tank and all and this.

Thanks. Right now it's all just babysteps. I had originally planned to have the tins all done and installed while I change up the other bits, the lighting, the handlebars, etc. But it looks like the tins will come last.

You will tell the difference when it gets back on the road, but the powdercoated lower bits look great.

I like the look of the braded hose .Ive been looking around to get some new lines when i get my 21" tbs wheel back next week . I was thinking of splitting them under the triple tree some how.

Your spoked wheel looks great.

I never liked the look of the brake hose draped over the fender, so I swapped the longer banjo bolt on the caliper with the shorter banjo bolt on the reservoir, bought a new brake line for the right side, new washers and 2 plastic plugs for the fender from Ace Hardware. Turned out nice.

bking good ideal never thought about changing the banjo bolt to the top. where did you get your new line made?

Hopefully it works really well or I'll probably look at rearranging my brake lines.

For Dual lines; Take the one out of the caliper...right or left (I forgot the one with two hose) and use it at the master cylinder and use the one from the master cylinder at the caliper.

You can also get some wire cable clamps from Ace (box is about $2) and paint them black and mount them on the triple tree....you can see where I had them on my bike (second picture)

Finally took a little test ride today around the neighborhood. HOLY CRAP. That thing is going to stop on a dime (just as soon as I get the rest of the air out of the system).

Did you let it set with the brake level pulled in ??...That is the last thing I always have to do...

Yeah. I did that after the first bleed. I think there was still air in the crossover line so I bled it again today. That's when I took my test ride. I'm going to let it sit overnight with a zip tie on the brake lever.

The bleeder tool I bought works pretty good, but you have to be careful. One squeeze on the handle and it will send a geyser of brake fluid shooting up out of your reservoir.

Get 'er done now... time's a wastin'!! And there will be no bleedin' on my marble clad driveway once ya get here (of course I could always get the butler or groundskeeper to clean it up)!

I'm riding it to work today. Just went outside and there's enough lever. Hopefully the rest of the sponginess (not that much left) will work it's way out.

Weird...the zip tie has always worked for me....

It helped with one disc, but I doubt it will do much for air in the crossover line.
