Roadworthy,
Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, did you find this in the service manual or the operator's manual? I am just starting to work on my bike and didn't see it in the operator's manual. What began this was I think I'm leaking a little oil. Yesterday, I went for a 130 mile ride and when I returned I noticed two wet drips under the bike. Upon inspection, I had a coat of oil all over the bottom of the engine. This happened when the bike (05 America) was new (it now has 19,000 miles on it). It was determined that a few of the bolts on the bottom of the engine weren't torqued down correctly and loosened up. Once tightened by the dealer, all was well. Anyhow, I figured I also just oiled the chain, that may have been the issue also. So I started to clean up the bottom side of the motor and in doing so, snapped a sprocket cover bolt.
I guess it is time to order the service manual. In the meantime, can I trouble you for one more? What torque should the bolts at the bottom of the engine be? Trying to ease my mind and still get a few miles in today. I figure the sprocket cover should be fine with 4 out of the 5 bolts holding it.
Thanks,
Steve B.
