I'm happy to say that after a bad Oct '09 wreck which broke my leg in 3 places, I am back on the bike. Unfortunately In the middle of all this I had to move from Asheville, NC to Charlotte. The riding isn't nearly as spectacular but I am learning to make the best of it.

I have a friend in Asheville. He owns a VW shop and works on the old stuff.

Good to hear this news, Chris!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

You aren't far from me. I could show you a few areas in Gaston and Cleveland counties that are noteworthy. Sadly not as nice as Asheville or the Murphy NC areas, but fair rides none the less.
