Mine is working similarly. In fact unless it's cold, I generally ride with my face shield up and a pair of sunnies and even without the sunnies it makes little difference ie no watering eyes etc.
Yep, it took me a little while to get it right but now I couldn't be happier either, particularly when it rains and I'm riding with a naked bike (not naked bike rider
) riding buddy. The comparisons in how wet each of us are really makes it so much more rewarding
