Hey Guys,
I was wondering if any of you knew about these. I was thinking of something a little different for my America. Do you know if I can just clamp these on to the headers and they will stay, or do I need to have a bracket of some sort? Will they rattle off? And 1 3/4" is the right size...right?
Thanks

BCarnage has them on his bike, almost two years now, no brackets, just slap 'em on. Yes, 1 3/4".

I'm running them on mine. No problems at all. Clamped right on. Loud, but not obnoxious, and permanent baffles help with the mid-range and bottom end you lose with going with the shorter pipes. A re-jet and I was good to go. If your bike is FI instead of carbureted it might pose a problem and you may have to have your ECU remapped. I'm not sure.

Edit: Nevermind. Different pipes. I'd still suggest mine. A great exhaust for less than $150. Plus with the open short pipes you WILL lose bottom end and mid-range.

I have these and they are LOUD!!! Easy clamp on instlation and some help from the jetting calc and your ready to roll. FYI, shortly after I installed these I sought out a guy to make custom ear plugs, because if I didn't mention it earlier, they are LOUD.

Here is an old photo, the day I put them on actually (With Soren's help)

Mine are the 19" turnouts. I love 'em, but I am certainly not sneaking up on anyone.

Can't really do that Myke. There's a bracket mount attached on the bike side of the pipe so if ya turned them down 90º the bracket mount would be facing up and therefore visible.

And yes... they do sound good!!!!!

I just put the 19" turnouts like Brent's on my 05 this afternoon and went for a ride. Oh man. First off, they sound great at idle. Get on the throttle and they roar. I think they look good too.
Seems like maybe I lost some low end, but not sure. I may have just been softer with the throttle because they're so freaking loud.

Big difference after a rejet as far as throttle response. I added the uni and bellmouth at the same time. Replaced the stock 120 mains with 132's per the jet calculator. Wow!

Hi I had the same set up as you on my 03 speedy DNA air filter , Norman Hyde Bellmouth AI removed , and 19 inch turn outs , i had it dyno by the triumph embassy daytona 675 racing team and they jetted me to 136 and 2 shims on the needle jet. It made a lot of difference. Very Quick

With the 32" length pipes, did you add any extra brackets or clamps?
How hard was the install?

I just took the stock rear bracket and welded it to the pipes. Took about 5 min. to do.

I noticed the attached brackets on their website.
It's looks like the pipe on the left would have to be flipped-over?
Any mounting hassles? Thanks...Hobbs

The brackets are attached by a nut and bolt and are fully adjustable. You can rotate or slide them around as needed and then tighten the bolt. With the 19" turnouts, you don't really need the bracket, I took them off. The clamps that came with the mufflers were junk so I ended up using the stock muffler clamps.

I've been running the JCW 19" turnouts for about a year. They sound great. I didn't feel comfortable not connecting the brackets so I used some half inch bolts and connected them the to points in the frame under the engine. Here's some photos

This is a 06 TBA. It got the Speedy parts when I rebuilt it after hitting a deer back in Mar 09

The audio/video had very garbled sound and was quite hard to make out. I personally have heard those pipes on Brent's bike and LOVED them. The sound here does NOT do them justice!

Thank you for your candor. Quite frankly I'm not totally pleased with the effort and was just pleased that it worked at all. I do have plans fir a better quality sound clip that is recorded with better equipment than my cell phone. This is my first effort. I only improve with repetition.

I would hope that with your criticism you might offer some suggestion how one could do better.

Also, I would love to hear some other sound bytes. The only other one in this thread is no longer available.

Well Hubert, in a round about way I was just trying to compliment you on the sound of those pipes! As for better sound quality? I have a few gadgets that do a great job, but then again I'm a musician and not everyone can justify owning such things. But I'll just throw this one out there... Tascam just put the following device on the market for $80 and THAT'S a steal!

Sorry 'bout going OT.

Ok Keith that looks like a great product. I'll research its specs. I already like the color.

As a musician (not pro) of many years I totally understand that need for sound to be right. And a Triumph twin (past & present models) with the right tune and pipes is music to my ears.

I've thought about hooking the brackets up, just in case. Though I have been running them without for almost three years. I am constantly checking to make sure they haven't come loose.

I hear ya! And with that in mind, I plan on blocking the x-over pipe just to dial it in more closely to an old school twin. We musicians have to get the note as perfect as possible... it's all about intonation!

I got the 19" turnouts from JCW. They are actually made by EMGO. Your description of the flap type "baffle" is what mine looked like inside.

so how strict are the noise laws in the areas where you folks are? here in Maine they passed or are in the process of passing a new noise law(loud bike law)if you ran those pipes with the baffle flap open 3/4 in say waterville, maine instant ticket with out a doubt. i really want to change my tor's but this stupid law for now anyway till we get it changed bothers me. not a hugh deal like a 125$ fine but just the hassel.
thanks for your input!

I live on a very quiet street, and as long as I don't get on it, I can keep the volume down to a "reasonable" level, which is part of why I like them. When I open it up though, wahoo!

Just now came across this old thread. Been running Thunderbikes since '05 and just changed to the EMGOs. I was also wondering about attaching the extra bracket so I appreciate the others who have already commented on this. Really like the Thunderbikes but was ready for a change so they go in the box for awhile.
