Cut springs also greatly reduce shock travel.

I think you can buy a set of stock shocks off someone here or pinwall for pretty cheap and try it out. Its not like youre cutting the frame, they can be changed back. Besides if youre lowering your bike youre not exactly looking for the best ride anyway.
Ian I think those lowering brackets dont allow alot of travel either with the way it changes the angle do you think? And if youre lowering it a decent bit you wouldnt want travel anyway right?...Travel means rubbing tires...like on wendys bike right?
Of course this all depends on how much you want to lower the rear. But usually those blocks bring the rear down a decent amount.

Haha, I want to lower my bike as well. Problem being the progressives only lower the bike an inch if that. Would like to lower a bit more. Yet I also ride 2 up here and there, don't want to be rubbing. Been trying to figure out what to do for months now. Prolly just bite the bullet and get the progressives. And the black will look sweet on me bike.

When talking about lowering the bike 2"+, I just dont see the point in buying top of the line shocks to lower the bike. You'd need them on the hardest setting just so you dont rub your tire.
So if you have them on the tightest setting whats the difference between high quality rebound and stock shock rebound? Theyre both not supposed to move that much anyway.
Their purpose is just have a bit more flex than hard struts and thats it.
I'm about to buy a set of stock shocks, cut them, and sell them to someone on here...haha

So, Zach...ya say you wanna lower your bike more than one inch, and yet ya also say you often ride two-up, and yet ya ALSO say you don't wanna rub the tire TOO, huh?!(..or maybe not start scrapping some of the hard parts on the bottom of your bike in sharply made turns TOO?!)
Well dude...I'd like to stay married to my wonderful wife Judie, but on the other hand I'd ALSO wouldn't mind havin' a little fling with Marisa Tomei!!! But dude...ya CAN'T have it ALL, bro!!!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I got shocks from Bela Corse, just told him what I wanted and he hooked me up. I got them to lower Wendy's bike 2". Hagon makes them to what you want.

nope sorry 3" or more the tire WILL hit the bottom of the seat and the chain rubs the bottom of the control arm Been there done that unless u extend the rear control arm and make a ideler gear for the chain or make a two chain set up like I've seen on hybusas which I've though about doing
2005 America 145 mains, , #48 pilots, , k&n pod filters, ported intakes manifolds, nology coils and wires, pro com CDI, 62 HP at wheel 68,000 hard miles still runs great gone "traded"

Well, I know can't have it all but I want it all. Ordered my 11 inche progressives from Eddy. We'll see how they do. I'm a light weight so solo riding should be fine. I'll let ya know if I find any problems.
