I've been looking for a way to gut the short tor's and I just can't find a how to. Is it a terrible idea? Is it worth it? They are the straight throughs with a single long baffle down the middle. Is there anything I can do with these? I want a louder sound without being absolutly obnoxious.(lightly obnoxious accecptable)

I would buy some stock pipes off Ebay to gut or some Chevy605 pipes and either hang onto or sell the TORs.

Yeah... that's sound (no pun intended) reasoning.

I'll do one better. If you can find your way west to the land of the 'chosen' pennsyvanians in the sw corner, I have a set that I'll let you try. It will make for a nice day trip and you won't ruin yours just to find out they are so loud that you'd wish you hadn't done it. If interested, let me know.

Do you have gutted TOR's or stock? How did you know I was a Philadelphia sports fan? Is it that obvious? It happens to be the only thing that erks me about my Triumph, it's Pittsburgh colors. That would be a nice trip out. Perhaps after the Flyers run in the Stanley Cup Finals.

I have; 1. Gutted short 2. Reg. ungutted, short O.R. 3. Reg. Stock long tappered 4. Gutted long tappered 5. Long Tappered w/ 2 baffles removed
You're welcome to try out whatever you like. For the purpose of a quick try, it would take about 15 minutes to remove and install. If you're interested. It would have to be a weekend and June is pretty much out of the question.

I'm lookin at some stock for a good price to mod myself but they don't look like what I'm used to seeing on stock. The part number on them is 2202540. He said they came off an 08 speedmaster. Are these the same ones with the offset baffles that are fairly easy to mod?

Just take the whole system off, including the headers.... fire it up and it make a funky "boinking" sound....if you choose to gut , don't forget to check your jetting....

there is a drill bit that if i remember right somebody made, floating around out there that has been being passed around for yrs. i am sure if you posted that you are looking for it, it would show up. it has a name but i cant remember what it is right now but from what i recall it works quite well at removing baffles. a number of people have used it. but then there is always chevy, he will buy yours and sell you his debaffled and from what i hear , his pipes sound pretty good.
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!
