Gal at work bought her first bike, an '05 HD Lowrider, so another coworker ('02 HD surplus cop bagger) decided it would be a great idea to go for a ride this morning, maybe get some breakfast. Stupidly I decided to tag along. We didn't go far. Probably less than 30 miles for me total.

Fa-fa-fa-fa-friggin cold. The original plan was to go over to Avon (27 miles each way) but we couldn't because OF THE SNOW on MacDonald Pass. Oh sure, I have great cold weather gear but heck, even down in Helena it was 36° and drizzling incessantly.

I've had my little cold weather adventure for the year. Bring on Summer. Heck, I'd be happy with a little normal Spring weather.

Well Geeze... I got my garden to worry about. Up this morning at 5:30 and the temp is 3ºc. Other parts of the valley reporting frost. The passes are freezing cold... icy roads, windy conditions, drifting snow. One weather system after another... relentless since the end of March. I'm going to the Island to pick up my new bike with trailer in tow... the only way to get it home. Can't ride it... no, no, no!! And my garden... did I mention my garden? So vulnerable are we on this rock traveling through space. Yikes!!!

Wyoming Travel Bureau slogan - - "If summer falls on a weekend this year, let's have a picnic".

Fortunately Montana is much more temperate, although I saw fresh snow on the trip down to Hamilton yesterday for Picon Punch & Leg 'O lamb, but that's another story

Never realized you can feel cooler just by using a different number.

Did 300 miles yesterday it was only 30.

Hey John I go to Hamilton a couple of times a year (My Father-In-Law lives in Victor) Where is this place you go? I love Leg O'lamb, and I'm hoping to ride up if Summer ever get's here.

(sorry for the hi-jack)

FJ doesn't mind a hi-jack or two. Besides it's the end of May and the ba.com moratorium on "snow talk" started today

A few of us went to a friend's place, the lamb came from his freezer. Hamilton is about 150 miles from my doorstep or "next door" in MT miles.

Victor used to have a restaurant along Hwy 93 called "La Cocina" or sumpin like that. Had their own salsa label . I noticed yesterday, same building, different ownership

I guess I don't feel so bad riding across the state in 94 degrees and love bugs. My condolences for your loss of spring!

later, Tom.

(so how do you get the little "degree" thingy?)

But, what do I know?

Have you thought about using a spare bedroom or walk-in closet? That's pretty common in these parts...

9 (or so) degrees North it was only a degree or two cooler - but I swear there was nothing to stop the wind gusts between us unless Paul for a ride!

Huh... here's Alt 167 º and here's Alt 0176 °... me thinks there some redundancy in the ASCII table.
