Hey guys.. I've noticed the paint on my tank near my seat has fine scratches... I'm sure my coat zipper or buttons from my shirt are touching.. I try and keep it from hitting while riding "but".. Is the clear coat on trumps thin ???? I have a little yammie TW 200 that has verrrrrrrrrrry tuff clear coat.. I mean this thing goes in dirt, mud, etc. without scratching... I've seen some where on this site a photo of a rubber pad that glues to this spot on the tank... Or was I just seeing things... V.

I cut to fit a piece of 'ClearBra' to the bottom of the tank. I made sure to cover the area under the seat where the seat meets the tank. This solution works for me. I have this stuff on the car as well, and it works GREAT. CLICKY H.

Yes, the clear coat on our tanks isnt the thickest in the world. I have used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor on my tank and it works pretty good. I know triumph makes a small triangle shape rubber tank pad. I do not know if it is for our bikes or another model and I cant seem to find it anywhere. I know BCarnage has on on his bike.

I have it, but haven't put it on. I want to fix the very deep scratches my old jacket, and hoody zippers have put in the tank. It looks like... ~Brent

I use a piece of Clear Bra on my tank and I'm sure it has helped already.
As for "thin" clearcoat - not sure. Most OEM clears seem to be on the thinner side nowadays.
