See the first issue is the light through the tent. Bucky usually grabs a good chair and his tent never leaves the back of his bike. Now he rises pretty early. But he never hits the tent.

Crack of dawn, yuck! I only get up early when work makes me. Otherwise noonish is my start time.

I know! That's how I am at home. Just another reason that camping is not my preferred form of accommodation.

OK...long time lurker, first time poster. Traded up my 05 Bonnie with 50,000 mi. for an 09 Speedmaster almost 3 months ago. I am always looking for an excuse to ride. So I would be interested in any ride that might involve travelling the entire length of the state. BTW...hiya.......Bob.

If anyone is thinking they should go - the answer is GO! Rob, Aunt Cath, & Lee put on a mighty fine rally. Last year we had fresh offfen the boat Lobstuhs so sweet, they tasted like candy. They have an awesome pool, plenty of room to camp, and a hot water outdoor shower. Very sweet set up indeed. Don't think I'll make it this year due to obligations here, but I'll be there in spirit. We'll see how it goes at the last minute I reckon. Maybe put out a missing man lawn chair for me...

Really hoping to take part in this. My only reservation is my bike is still pretty naked, no bags or racks to carry gear.

So far so good. I've got Em that weekend, but now that she's most most grown, I made plans for her oversight while her mama comes out to play.

I got more than a few odd looks on the way home the other night. Stewie would have made it better. But then I wouldn't have been able to ride on the pillion.

Crawford Notch! One of my favorites. Bear Notch Road was freshly paved this year- I just rode it last weekend. Very nice.
We could take Rte 3 South from Lincoln for a ways for some farmy mountains receding views and then pick up 93 in say, Franklin or so.....

2 ways I like to come home from that area. One is NH rt 153, into the giant towns of Freedom and Eaton, very little traffic and nice views or cross into Maine and come down their state highways, even less traffic. Or go up 16 take the Kanc to 118 and then down the Conn river valley.

Okay so yesterday I thought I'd sacrifice a little time for the greater good of the rally and I pre-rode the whole length of the Kanc from Woodsville to Conway. I know, I know the things I do sometimes. You can thank me later. Leaving from 302, headed towards Lincoln, the beginning and end of this section is freshly paved. The middle in the National Forest is rough in a couple places but way better than it was last year. This is my personal favorite part of the Kanc. All the sweeping turns none of the traffic. I didn't come onto a car heading my way until after the Giovannis resturant right before Lincoln. Lincoln sucks on a saturday afternoon, but good thing we are doing this on a friday. Yard sales and old people in Caddies doing Uturns is not a fun thing to find on a corner. The Lincoln to Conway is overall in good shape, being the "faster" section at 50mph instead of 40. But with 10x the traffic. One oddity minivans were traveling faster than sporty type cars. Packs of Vettes and Hogs crept through the turns. Good ride overall, more tourbuses than usual but in the middle of this section traffic thinned out. The only cop I saw was a USDA ranger shooting radar which I've never seen before. Total time was 1 3/4 hours, but I figure we'd ride it slower. One major tip to share if you have a sport bike behind you with a passenger, wave them ahead so you can enjoy the view on the pillion. Oh the other sections of the ride. 93 is wonderful.....well not terrible, paving through Concord is done, the only work ongoing is 4 bridges on 93 north. A statie was hiding behind a road work sign with a radar gun and walked into the middle of the left lane to wave someone over. This is not cool since the minivan beside me in the left lane decided he wanted to share my spot in the right lane.

I might not be able to make it whilst I'm over there as we are going to be pretty busy dealing with my father in law after surgery and buying property in MA. Hopefully I might be able to at least make the Saturday evening in the car so that Sandy and I can meet you all and have a beer and a chat. I've missed some good rallies over here this year so I'm looking forward to at least getting to say hello to some of the folks off the site across the pond. If not hope you all have a good rally and the weather stays fine for you and when I finally move over there, get to catch up with people on some of the rallies over there.

Bummed and stoked. about not getting to NH this year and instead riding to the Nor-East rally via SD. Gonna miss you guys and gulls. I steamed up 8 Maine lobsters last week. Then I showed our guest what a REAL bake was all about. Although the Nor'East was missed last year, the thought of a certain brew mister's red azz amber ale was alive and well

I might be there. I'm finishing up installation of floating rotors, new brake pads, and Progressive front springs but I still want to see if I can track down an electrical gremlin and possible exhaust leak. If I have to scrub my plans I'll let you know but if all goes well I should be there by Thursday night with a possible brief stop on Tuesday morning/afternoon (now that I think about it you will probably all be at work so maybe I'll just ride through). I'm going to try to stay with some friends in Bar Harbor for a couple days since I'll be that far north anyway.
Remember, always be yourself.
