So here is my bike with the Triumph Summer Screen...I love having it, and it is a nice size, but have noticed an annoying roll of air that seems to come up under it, and thumps at my chest when I'm on the freeway. I am intersted in possibly getting lowers for it to see if that cuts down on the buffeting. Any suggestions?
I was considering a larger screen, but think lowers may be a less expensive fix and I have not been too partial to larger screens as past experiences tell me they sometimes are a sail that the wind can catch, making a ride more exhausting than fun...went through three different screens on my first bike until I finally settled on one that I liked.

Here is a better look at the screen.

Couldn't get the link to post as a picture...sorry. I am sometimes technology challenged and today seems to be one of those days for me.

There's been some pretty good posts and threads about lowers, buffeting, air flow from under, etc. I tinkered with many of the ideas until I got something that works so well that all I get now are nice wispy breaths of air around my face. Turbulence wise, it's quiet behind that screen.

Here's what I did. I first bought the Memphis Shades lowers from Eddy, and mounted them up just beneath the screen. Still had buffeting. So I lowered them by swapping sides and turning them upside down. This make the mount much lower, but left a huge gab between the screen and the lowers. End result? Buffeting. So I went out and got some plexi and make up longer lowers using the same MS hardware. And now? As I said, my face is now gently caressed by warm summer breezes. No buffeting, no grief... unless it's a windy day which makes for wind currents impossible to buffer.

Here's a pic with those homemade lowers. It's kinda hard to see but they extend from the bottom of the windshield right down to the fork seals.

Thanks! I know of a place which might help me make up a set to go with Fast Eddy's hardware. I think I will try that.

Thanks also for the compliment on the helmet. Scorpion got in trouble with Hells Angels for making the "sinister" helmet and they are no longer making them. I was trying to decide between this one and one which had a really awesome scorpion crawling up the back of it. Figured I get enough people try to run me off the road, don't need to give them a bug to go after on my head too! I like it and it has a nice sparkle in the wings to go with the bling of the America's chrome!

That's a good route to go... just buy the mounting hardware and take it from there. As noted by myself and others chiming in here... it seems to work best if the lowers stretch from the shield to around the fork seals (bottom of shrouds). You are gonna love the difference!!
