After 35,000 miles, I've been seeing some burned rubber on my left exhaust header. I thought that I had hit a piece of kicked up rubber but today, I smelled fresh rubber again. I looked down and it is my speedometer cable.
It's routed down thru a trick NewBonneville Cable holder and I haven't tinkered or changed any thing recently. I pulled it back towards the headlight and ziptied it to the fat wire bundle on the left side of the tank. Hopefully that keeps it from bulging towards that header pipe.
I'm still puzzled as to what suddenly made that cable make contact with the header pipe?
