I guess I just dont look at the top of the forum very much, I hope that We(the owner of the forum) are getting paid nicely for running the Harley banner at the top of a Triumph page.

Yup, happened a few months back.... Looks like one of those popup ad areas that key on the topic of discussion...
Soooo, if you don't want to see it, stop bashing Harley!
(Wonder what would trigger bikini ads?)

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?

Well Beamer, actually the word around here is that the owner of this forum, Robert Wade, DID get a reciprocal agreement from some of the Harley websites, and that they're allowing him to run Triumph ads over there too!

The only problem with this is that the Triumph ads they're runnin' over there are only pushing the idea to those folks that any purchasing decisions one should make should primarily be all about the quality of the machines in question, the price, the ride characteristics, the performance factors and such...and NOT about any "lifestyle" you might also automatically receive in addition to the purchase of any shiny new motorcycle.

(...and so, I hear those Triumph ads aren't exactly geared to their customer base over there, and it seems H-D might've gotten the better deal here!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Maybe not Dwight, and here's my story.

I didn't know that Triumph were doing cruisers untill I saw an America parked up outside Rugby truckstop, which led me to internet searching them and finding this here forum. After reading what basicly a load of Americans (America being the home of cruisers) had to say about the bikes combined with how the one I saw looked I was sold.

Now prior to that fateful encounter I had been looking at HDs and if I had found a similar forum which had featured Triumph ads I would have looked for sure (out of noseyness if nothing else) and discovered the Triumph cruiser range all by myself, whereas I had to count on fate to guide me, and I don't even know if I would have a bike yet as none of the HDs appealed at the price I was able to pay and I didn't want a clone, but might have settled for one

BTW Tom, Bikini, Bikini, Bikini, Bikini

Now keep an eye out for ads for holiday destinations to a certain atoll

Why Bryn, what an unusual and rare story THAT was!

Uh huh, what with "all" the advertising Mr.Bloor has done about his company's products over the years, I'm "shocked" to learn that THAT was how you discovered this brand, and especially this model's existence in the marketplace!

(...uh huh...just about as "shocked" as Claude Rains' Capt Renault was "shocked" to learn of gambling going on inside Rick's Place in "Casablanca"...yep, sorry, but I've heard THIS story many, many, many, many times around here AND in my many travels astride my Hinckley-built Triumphs since back in '95 when his machines first hit the American shores)

Oh I knew about the brand, and that they were back in business, just didn't realise they made cruisers apart from the R3, which was too big. I'd have probably looked eventually anyway, its just that this mysterious lady led me to the path (the one I saw was ridden by a lady, and I was too shy to talk )
