For posterity:
Remove the right shock. Film the bosses with grease. Place the shock on the top boss then using the shock push up on the bike and place the shock on the bottom boss. A drop of blue locktight on each bolt as the torque is only right round 22nm. (might not be the correct torque, so check it.)

Remove left shock. Grease bosses. Place the shock on the top boss. Too heavy to lift using the shock this side eh? Stand on the left side of your motorsickle. Your back towards the shock. Hold the shock in your left hand, lift on the fender with your right. Or vise versus, whatever works for you, as you need your legs to lift the heaver side being on a kickstand and all... Place the shock on the lower boss.
