I saw this picture but I can't find out any info. Any body know know anything on it

Very old, artist's conception of what the Rocket III Tourer might look like. As we now know, it looks more like a Road King than a Goldwing or BMW tourer.

Beautiful rendition. Would be cool if Triumph did make a 'Wing' style Rocket.

Just my 2 cent - the bike in that photo is so ugly it could make a blind man puke.

And the weird thing is, I like the late model Wings, and even that space ship thing that Victory sells - just not on a Triumph thanks.

There are enough mini vans on two wheels already.

Well, sorry Martin and Jim, BUT first Jim: evidently there aren't enough "minivans on two wheels" already 'CAUSE Honda still sure sells a whole lot o' new GoldWings, and BMW still sure sells a whole lot o' new RTs and LTs to a whole lot o' folks out there. And soooooo, why shouldn't Triumph FINALLY jump into that market with both feet, and especially with a basic layout that just SCREAMED from the very first RocketIII they ever made to do exactly THIS to that big ol' motorcycle, HUH?!

Now granted, I probably wouldn't ever buy one of these because I doubt I'd ever jump a bike and head from Prescott AZ to, say, Anchorage AK, BUT I got a feelin' all the folks out there who DO that sort of cross-continent touring, and they're legion out there alright, would certainly like to have another choice in this style of motorcycle.

And now Martin: So you said you "liked the latest model Wings" and I presuming you're talkin' about the Victory Vision out there....so what's so different or outlandish about the looks of this proposed Triumph tourer as compared to those machines, huh?!

What?! You think Triumph should only stick with makin' "modern classics" or somethin'?! Well, if that's what you're thinkin' here, I have to say that I think it was and is a very smart move on Mr.Bloor's part to have the only street motorcycle lineup which includes not only those "modern classics" but ALSO some of the latest and greatest sportbikes(the 675 Daytona), and ultra-modern naked bikes(the Speed and Street Triples), and big and functional cruisers like the Thunderbird and the RocketIII.

(uh huh, once again, I'm right around here, huh?!)

You can call it a mini van. I'll call it a sofa that can wheelie. I've been looking at the BMW 1200 LT and the K1300gt. I want a powerful touring bike comfortable and dependable that I can ride the USA on. I'd buy it

Hey, everybody gets a choice on what to buy-I'm good with that. Been around the country one time and around half of it twice. Not then on the "minivan with two wheels" and would not do it now on those bikes. Don't need cruise, radio, drink holder, vents, GPS, or the like. I DO need my backrest! YMMV, and more power to you.

I like it. I WILL be getting a R3T someday. Whether it looks like the one in this thread, or how it looks now, I will be having one.

I kinda like how it looks. But think how much that monster would weigh!

I really dig the Rocket III's and am very tempted by the roadster. Maybe someday.

Triumph, like most manufactures now, does a great job of placing the weight in the correct spot. I've been on every heavyweight cruiser out there and the R3T is as good a handler as nay of them, and better than most. This assumes that the driver knows how to tell a big bike waht to do and how to do it. I've seen several try to handle these bikes like a sport bike and they don't respond well to that. You really need to be clean with the line selection and set-up. Don't think so? I witnessed a former AMA racer SMOKE a few Daytona 675's on the street. What an eye opener!

The current R3T is a much better buy than the Thunderbird touring edition currently offered.

In Canada, the 2010 models are set up with approximately $3500 in accessories at no extra cost. Crash bars, highway pegs, gel touring seat, luggage rack, pillion backrest, driver backrest, chrome trim around the hard bags, quick attach extra large windshield, lowers, auxil lighting etc etc. and look mean.

I can't imagine living in the western MTS of Canada and not needing the power of an R3 over the air-cooled V-Twin. Pipes on the R3T gets you another easy 17hp and some good sound to boot.

Hmm, could this be the rumored new Trophy????
