My one concern is that your friend has just completed the MSF course. Those bikes have the same triples as the concurrent Speed Triples. It's a lot of power. But I started on too much bike, so I shouldn't talk.

That said, those T-Bird sports are AWESOME. Everything the Thruxton dreams of being.
