I wanted to give a full report on the helmet search. I appreciate all the input and have decided on the
Daytona Carbon Fiber Skull Cap(DOT) .
This helmet is unbelievably light and really cuts out that mushroom head Dot helmets tend to have. Plus, it looks farkin cool with the real, high quality carbon fiber.
I had been using a Fulmer Ranger 1/2 helmet and the comparison is quite noticeable.
On the inside, there is still a good amount of padding but it's still very noticeable how much smaller the Daytona helmet is.
I'm thoughouly happy with it and can say it does NOT have the parachute effect at high speeds, it's so light you hardly notice it's on your head, and looks great.
I also looked at the Zox 1/2 helmet with the revolutionary thin design. I held it side by side with the Daytona and hands down the Daytona was smaller and lighter. I also looked at Fulmer, Harley, and so many others I can't remember. Head Trip helmets are recalled. If they were still going I would have gone with those but they aren't Dot anymore. You could still use their helmets on your bike though and have more padding than the novelties...
