Hey Bill here is my cell 585-330-6858

I should be there at the group camping area ..and I belive there are going to be 5 or 6 other there also...so we will look at dinner when that gets time ..it's very easy to run to the store and do a cook out right there at the group camping area ...or go out what ever we want to do..

if all fails just come to the "group camping area" and see whats going on go to the map web page

and look it over on what way you would like to get to the group camping area I would take "sandy hill/kanona rd" off rt36 and look for ..

yes it a ruff road down into the group camping area but take your time and is very easy to ride ..

the other way is off rt36 also and is black top the whole just follow the signs to the park camping area you can get to the "group camping area" when youget to the parking lot at the bottom of the hill this where the camping store is and showers..just take the foot brige acrosse creek and you will be in the "group camping area" ...................... but they will charge you if you go in this way..

so I will let you choose...

Ed

Got a new rear tire and bike's all loaded up; will be heading out tomorrow afternoon and probably spend the night around Harrisonburg VA. Should be at Stoney Brook Thursday early afternoon. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I'd kinda like to leave right now (10:45 pm eastern) to beat the weather, and ride till a nap is indicated, but I promised the wife I would help her with the 2 babies in the morning, and so I'll try to roll out by 8 or 8:30 am. (That usually translates to 10 with my adult onset ADD -- oh yeah - there's that screwdriver I've been looking for... )

I'm thinking somewhere halfway across I'll have to bag-up for the weatherman's curse, but so it goes. Hope to get there by 3 or 4 (or would that be 5?) pm and get squared away by sundown.

Yee-hah! We're down to counting hours and not days.

I keep watching the weather for Dansville and they keep changing it. One day they say beautiful Friday thru Sunday then next time I look it says rain on Sunday? What have you local folks been seeing or hearing for the weather this weekend? Not that it really matters as I will be there but may have to adjust packing list.

One thing about the rain: In this cold weather the rain gear is welcomed.

Hum, that not only goes for Colorado and Montana but even NY as well. What happened to Summer? Counting the crows till arrival at camp. Stayed last night 82 miles away in Cloudersport PA. Seems that hypothermia really makes ya stupid. After at least warming up at the local Fox's Pizza joint, chugging coffee and a burger with fries, I started to think rationally again.

100 miles back I got on the devil's highway. PA Route 666. What started out as a typical twistie switchback road that morphed into 'to die for' sweepers turned into 10 miles of fresh oil and gravel. Major time killer eh? Oh well. Not the first time this continental sojourn. Not the last. I remember riding between Craig CO on my way to Red Fleet State Park. Yep Rain. Past dark and on black asphault. grr screwed up my stay at the park as the Terrace Motel in Dinasour got my 40 bucks.

where was I? Oh yeah, rain. F it. Cinnamon girl needs a good stiff rain to wash her road grime off. There was a section of North Dakota Rt 11 that was dirt and still wet from the rains. Well bits of ND are now all over Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and PA.

Soooooo. Time to load up, throw a leg over and ride. Only today is a pussycat ride. Not even 2 hours in the saddle. Screw it I'm going to crawl back in the bed...Not. See youz soon.

Somewhere on PA Rt 6

Some lyrics

"But now you're gonna go out
And get yourself
A reputation.
But I'm gonna have to show you
Where to start."

Tim Buckley 'Sweet surrender'

Moe,

Are you saying that they just tarred and chipped route 66 in PA? That is the way that I always travel up thru PA to 219 and into NY. That sucks if it is fresh tar and chip!

Devil's highway Rt 666

Not Rt.66

And sucks is the word to describe 'fresh tar and chip'. At least it wasn't black ice and snow. ahem.

OK I was a little concerned and was thinking of changing routes actually. But that is good. I like the route that I travel up into NY.

So good to see the boyz again! Big Jack and I made it here Wed. night frozen but dry, Some of the lads rode in hard rain yesterday, and cold the night before. Pat arrived with the home brew to warm us up. Foggy and cold right now but supposed to get better.

Moe and I made it back to my place around 11pm Monday night. Had a long day but the trip was well worth it. We even managed to squeeze in a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway from the end at Skyline drive down to Fancy Gap. Moe will be headed out early in the morning to get back home to Florida. Thanks Ed.

I left the campsite at 7:30 Sunday it was 61 degrees with a fine misting rain. Not too bad. Once I got on the big road I ran into very thick fog that lasted for about 10 miles or so and then I ran out of the fog into a grey overcast morning. I could see way to the south and east the end of the clouds and by the time I crossed into Pa. bright sunshine and 65 degrees. The further south I got the warmer it got. Until when I got into NJ it was 85 degrees. All in all a good ride home.
I had a lot of fun at the rally it was so good to see all of my old Rally pals and to meet the new ones. A great group of people and I was sad when it was time to leave.
I cannot give enough praise to Ed and his family. The amount of work that he did was incredible. He was constantly doing something to make our stay more enjoyable. Thank you Ed!

Yeah, another great rally in the bag.
I made it home about dinnertime. My butt is still sore from all the miles we put in.

oh wait, that wasn't me was it. Well, my truck got darn near 100 miles on it.
Next year I promise I will actually bring a motorcycle, probably even a Triumph. And there will be more IPA as well as the RedAzz so many longed for. but you sure did destroy the kegs I did bring regardless of the brew.

I spent Saturday night in PA, and then had a beautiful ride down to NC on Sunday. Made it home about 5:00. After chilly and rainy weather, the dry nineties down here kind of felt good. Had a great time in NY; it was good to see everybody again. Big thanks to Ed for setting everything up and for being an awesome host.

Last time I went to NY (2008), I broke down on the way home in the middle of Virginia. I've been a little leary of long days riding since then, but bike ran perfect all weekend and just needs to be cleaned up a little.

After seeing all the Tigers and Sprints up there, I'm re-dedicated to getting the big old Daytona running right again. Everybody stay safe,

Will

Left early Sunday a.m. to get to Ithaca to surprise my wife on our anniversary. Hit incredible fog but managed to stay dry. Some sun around Elmira. Stopped & bought flowers & still managed to be the man she had hoped to avoid but couldn't after 18 years.
What a ride on Saturday - a top 10 for me! Thanks Ed & family - you made it great once again. I still can't get over Bucky's Bivouac Hammock - he's a master of repose. See you next year if my health holds out!

Hey, The site is back and I’m a member again!!!
I made it home safe although it rained on and off the whole way. No heavy rain, just enough to keep me from shedding my rain suit. Again I enjoyed myself immensely. What a great group of folks to spend the weekend with.
Ed, you and your family are great hosts. Ya got everything covered to make it comfortable for us and I really appreciate it. That’s a lot of work and you got it down pat. Thanks man!!!
