Took my littel road trip 500 mile approx with my America 03 and a texas ranger sidecar. 70 to 80 MPH got 30 miles per gal. and on back roads at 50 to 60 MPH I got 35 miles per gal. I'm happie life is good, but. got over 3 turns on pilot jet I order a 45 pilot and a 132 main. I need just a littel more tork on take off. may need new clutch spring and a 43 rear spocket as well. That better mileage thasn my 07 harley got with the same sidecar. rudyr

Now for the rest of story. My tom tom say's I've got a 4 MPH error on my Triumph speedo. So queston am I going more miles or less miles with a speed error between fill up. That's what I worry about sitting around the fire with a brew at nite.Rudyr

It's strange, but true, speedo is off, but your odometer is probably correct. I know mine is.

My speedo reads 78 at an actual 73 (about 7% faster than true) - measured with GPS over quite a few hwy. miles. My odometer reads about 2% less than actual miles driven. Mileage around town 35 mpg, highway 40 mpg. Overall average for me (much more around town) is 36-37. These figures are adjusted by my 2% odometer error.

So I must weigh the same as a normal person plus sidecar because those are the numbers I'm getting most of the time. Or weigh as much and have roughly the same aerodynamic cross-section...

well I went to a RAT Ralley this past weekend and My milage was 34,35 mpg. And that was hard twiste roads short hard grads, 30 to 65 MPH. I bid on a T100 43 tooth to rear sprooket today hope it fittes and it dosen't effect my gas milage to much. Along with as biger pilot and main jet. Rudyr
