I have read extensively through the posts and cant find any talk of the 412 in 11" on the speedmaster. Has anyone tried these? I have Boogiemans lowering blocks already -2.5" and just want to replace them with the black 412s without losing too much lowering. Any one know if they fit? -Q

I've been trying to find these myself. I see they offer them but when trying to order them off of any of the usual sites 11.5 is the shortest available! So I'm very confused about this as well, I would like 10.5 but 11 would do!

I have the 11.5 412s, and can't imagine going any shorter. My BuBs scrape on hard corners. Contact FastEddy. If they exist, he'll get 'em for you. Uncle Charlie

11.5 is the lowest Progressive will go for application on our bikes. When they give their blessing (which includes a warranty) they do so after testing them for the application they assign for them. You may be able to find "cross overs" that "fit", but a shock is not the same on every bike. There are more issues than travel, and clearance that Progressive considers when they test a bike for application of any given model. Many have tried the one shock fits all approach only to find that one size does not fit all nor do they perform well or as intended on all variations and they are left with a shock that they have spent good money on and still need a set of shocks. Others have got lucky and found a "fit, but are left with something that may or may not perform up to Progressive performance standards. This I know for certain, if you stray from the shock that is listed for a given model of motorcycle and something goes wrong with the shock..it will not be warrantied by Progressive. So how's that? eddy

It can be done...but progressive will not warrent it...go to the tech section of progressive and look up the 11.5 shock that fits our bike (412-4254C)...get all the shock info...travel, spring rate, spring number and etc....then go in the chart and match a 11" shock for a harley (dyna sportser)...you need to shim the shock.

"Shim"? Are you talking about the mounting grommets?

yes with progressive they've got the steel grommets already in place, and metal shims to fit it accordingly to your bike.

FastEddy... So I definitely appreciate your advice and am leaning towards the 11.5s Here is MY situation... three years ago I mounted the Boogiemans lowering blocks... The ride is great, I definitely rub the tire, but I chopped and smoothed the fender. My issue, is the nagging fear that the altered architecture is going to lead to the lower shock mount breaking when I hit a pothole on the FDR at 80mph. I want to keep the same lowered height (short legs!) but increase the safety (slightly, I do ride in NYC afterall) SO, With all that... Guess I'm lookin' for permission from someone : ) Seriously though, I wanted to see if anyone had first hand experience with the 11s THANKS!!! Quentin

Quentin, For what it's worth, when my "new" 07 TBA was delivered from New Hampshire, I discovered she was lowered. More so than even what other members have done to their bike. I quickly discovered that going over things like RR tracks can be an interesting experience, like I feel I'm going to be thrown from my seat. I just had some repairs made at my friendly local dealer and they included the following statement We feel that the bike is unsafe to ride with the forks and shocks modified. They even ensured I signed this statement. They also cautioned me about speed bumps, etc.
I was planning on replacing the the shortened 412's with stock Hagon Nitros and fixing the forks as well. So she won't be lowered for much longer. But if I were you, I'd give second thought to lowering the bike.
Just my 2 cents.

You can do anything once...somethings twice. As for raising the fronts that have been lowered? If they are Progressive Lowering Kit, simply remove the small springs that are in there, they are what lower the suspension. I can send you or link you installation instructions for the 11-1145 to make the conversion. Conversely, I stock these springs for guys who already have Progressive fronts and want to go the other way instead of buying a complete new set of springs for going either direction, you can save some money for other things. eddy
